It's funny because all of those FCC regulations were because of OH NOES THE SOVIETS COULD USE THIS TO SUBVERT US.

Flash forward to let's say Facebook, which the Russians played and are playing like a harp from Hell quite safe from any FCC scrutiny at all. Meanwhile plugging in and turning on a 40 year old piece of obsolete equipment could land your ass in prison.
