I know there's been a kind of informal move to keep the site less political this year, but this sure could use a big, fat "capitalism" tag.

Old_Zircon - 2019-06-01

Also, just for the record, "Popeye" is probably my favorite Robin Williams movie and DEFINITELY my favorite Altman movie.

casualcollapse - 2019-06-01

I don't give a shit about how political this website gets, I don't think I could ever hate it.. racism is the only thing I won't tolerate outright..I am a man so I will tolerate a little misogyny

Ugh - 2019-06-01

popeye is the kind of movie i expect people to dislike right from the mention of it, assuming they've ever seen it, but it holds a happy place in my heart for all the times i caught it randomly airing while i happened to have some stomach bug or feverish insomnia

cognitivedissonance - 2019-06-01

Considering Disney produced "Popeye", it was kinda late for that argument.

Xenocide - 2019-06-02

I demand that this site be kept free of politics forever, and anyone who disagrees is a filthy John Hickenlooper supporter.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2019-06-02

A live.action Popeye may have been a crazy idea, but if you're going to do one, I don't see how it could have been done better. I'd watch POPEYE anytime. I'd probably prefer seeing GOOD MORNING VIETNAM again to shoving red hot coals into my eyes, but I might need a moment to think about it.

Marlon Brawndo - 2019-06-03

Popeye was a great movie.

Jack, Patch Adams and Bicentennial Man, though...those were abominations. Williams took a slide for a while.

casualcollapse - 2019-06-04

I agree with all of them except the last, I enjoyed Bicentennial Man as a child

gravelstudios - 2019-06-01

I watched this video, then proceeded to watch lots of other stuff by her. She really does some good work.

Ugh - 2019-06-01

lindsay ellis is great, she does a wonderful job of making me give a shit about something if only for a little bit

Xenocide - 2019-06-02

She clearly has a love for Disney stuff but refuses to let them off the hook for all the bullshit they pull.

The Mothership - 2019-06-02

Insightful commentary.

Boomer The Dog - 2019-06-02

Good stuff, the last one I watched of hers was 'men as monsters' in movies, found through PoE last year.

I hoped she'd cover Robin in what I think was his last role, as voice for Dennis the Dog in Absolutely Everything. It was a live action movie, and I thought Dennis' talking animation was well done, high quality compared to what I usually see in movies like Pup Star for example.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2019-06-02

Just a reminder: FOR (maybe) YEARS I took so much shit for submitting her stuff.

fedex - 2019-06-02

John Hurt? What about fucking John Huston as Gandalf? That was the voice of Big G for me forever after that.
