Though I thought it was going to suddenly cut to the thing being right next to them and the mom or daughter dying to some freak accident. The execution ended up being a lot lamer.

I really wanted to recommend the entire Alter channel. It's got a lot of fantastic stuff on it, and I like short films. They often have more creativity than full length films.
