MSG is awesome and makes everything taste better. Fear of MSG is tied to prejedice against Asians. The same fucks complaining that MSG gave them headaches after eating Chinese food never complained about KFC.

I think the MSG worries, in addition to whatever weird anti-Asian stuff was going on, was also group think (rad) like everyone thinking they are gluten intolerant or have celiac disease.

Sanders tried to subvert the corporation a lot toward the end, even selling his recipe to a separate independent seasoning company. It's out there. He came to regret a lot of his franchising decisions and openly complained about the quality of the gravy, referring to it as "sludge".

Colonel Sanders is a weirdo personal hero of mine, and I have a framed portrait of him on my wall.

I think a huge part of the anti-MSG mania has to do with its "sciencey" name. If you call salt "Sodium Chloride," or water "Dihydrogen Monoxide," they sound scary to the average (and sadly badly undereducated) person.

Remember, a LOT of people these days refuse to eat food that contains chemicals, or hormones. It's only organic for them!

If only they had a tiny understanding of what any of these words mean.

I work with a guy who won't eat Asian food because "the MSG gives me headaches" but he probably eats piles of it in other foods.
