Back in the web 1.0 days I found a blog post by a woman who argued at length that you should never sleep with a man who doesn't like durian because it's a warning sign that they won't be good at oral, on account of durian tasting and smelling uncannily vaginal.


I hope she eventually got appropriate medical attention.

Humans, alone among primates, will happily gobble down foods that have evolved strong deterrents to being eaten.

Sometimes, we will even selectively breed them to increase their deterrent effects & still eat them.

How did we ever make it this far as a species?
