Candy bar creation myth.

tesla_weapon - 2017-12-14

Why is it, whenever someone from the CBAP alleges the myth of FACTS, we start this whole Yay versus Jay debate again. The crunch is the vital candy to the universe, and ain't no fucking retarded Jaysters gonna bleet loud enough for the normies to understand it. I'll always demand the slight increase in candy bar prices to improve with inflation as it was deemed on every wrapper.

Shit. Wrong thread. My bad.

Really spot on James Earl Jones impression.

sasazuka - 2017-12-14

I can't find any information about who did the voiceover for this commercial, but I don't think it's outside the range of possibility that it actually is James Earl Jones. He did plenty of commercial voiceover work back in the day.

I absolutely love the outer space sci-fi that came out in the wake of Star Wars in the late 70's - early 80's. LOVE IT. Good, bad, cheesy, super-cheesy -- it's awesome! I wish they had Crispy Crunch bars in the States in 1979, so I could have watched this ad and ... I dunno, made my Star Wars toys have battles on top of the wrapper.

They still sell Crispy Crunch in Canada but, after Cadbury bought Neilson, they changed the formula slightly so the peanut butter is less salty and it definitely tastes sweeter compared to when I was a kid. I prefer the classic formula, well, assuming my decades old memories of how candy used to taste are accurate.

For Americans, I think the mainstream U.S. candy bar that Crispy Crunch is most similar to is probably Butterfinger, how the filling is sort of like the halfway point between peanut butter and peanut brittle. Though according to Wikipedia, Crispy Crunch was sold in the United States for a brief period of time in the 1990s, distributed by defunct collectible card company Pro Set.

I'll buy any candy endorsed by a space god.

Mostly because I fear his anger if I don't.
