Is this the actual film or was it one of those remix trailers!

sasazuka - 2017-10-23

It's posted by 20th Century Fox so I presume it's legit.

garcet71283 - 2017-10-23

It's real, they are making a big deal about the "first Marvel horror movie"

sasazuka - 2017-10-23

From what I understand now, this movie is based on the 3-issue Demon Bear arc, which was a tonal shift to horror atypical for the comic. (I started reading it about a year after that arc was published.)

I can accept that the tone of the trailer matches the story arc they're adapting. I just wish the trailer didn't make it seem like a generic jump scare horror film.

SolRo - 2017-10-23

I'm going to pretend that the wall faces scenes were cleverly done practical effects instead of the soulless CGI they probably are.

garcet71283 - 2017-10-23

At least the first shot comes across as practical.

Not sure about the 2nd though.

..that were completely ripped from Nightmare on Elm Street.

Cautiously optimistic.

Finally, we get the screen debut of beloved Marvel hero, Todd the Washing Machine.

....

ALTHOUGH, Todd was never actually a member of the New Mutants PER SAY, though he did team up with them to help defeat his arch nemesis The Launderer in New Mutants (vol.2) #91, a story which was later retold in the post-Secret Wars continuity in The Tremendous Todd the Washing Machine #347, but in that version they instead fought Todd's other main villain, Doctor Detergent. However it's possible that this movie is based on Todd's non-canonical appearance in the What If? series, specifically issue 926, "What If Todd the Washing Machine Founded the New Mutants and Was Also Galactus?"

Due to the ongoing legal battle between Disney and Fox, however, they probably won't be able to adapt that issue's surprise ending, where long-lost feline Avenger Tigra is revealed to have been hiding inside Todd for the past five years, because Marvel once put a cat inside a washing machine on purpose.

Take them...

Bort - 2017-10-24

Spoilers: Todd is actually a malfunctioning Warlock trying to disguise himself as that one-eyed minion.

Adham Nu'man - 2017-10-25

I take it you are joking but your explanation sounds entirely plausible to me.

Robin Kestrel - 2017-10-24

Washing machine is one of those machines no one could think of a better name for.
