The coroner's report had damn well better say "decedent's blood runs cold".

Xenocide - 2017-04-13

Here's your headline, chief: SINGER OF "CENTERFOLD" NOW AN ANGEL!

Binro the Heretic - 2017-04-13

Peter Wolf is the vocalist. Geils was lead guitar & band founder.

Bort - 2017-04-13

Well SOMEONE is an angel in the potter's field.

infinite zest - 2017-04-14

but who sells the memory?

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2017-04-13

I'm told that's not Martha Quinn.

Scrimmjob - 2017-04-13

Nah man, it's J.J. Jackson!

TheyUsedDarkForces - 2017-04-13

This is one of the songs that causes me to change the radio station every single time, without fail...

Old_Zircon - 2017-04-13

Yeah, I really don't like J. Geils Band at all.

Old_Zircon - 2017-04-13

But it's still better than every single pop punk band ever.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2017-04-13

I don't know who's aware of it, but the The J Geils Band broke big during the eighties with a commercial rock and roll sound, but they were around all through the seventies as a moderately successful blues-oriented band, and many consider that their best days. A couple of samples

Give It To Me (Their biggest hit from the 70's)

Full House (Live Album)

In my opinion, this stuff is well worth a listen, especially the live album, but to be honest, it's been years, so I could be wrong. I'll check it out myself when I get the chance.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2017-04-13

Thanks for sharing. I heard about their blues past but never heard any of it until now.

Old_Zircon - 2017-04-13

70s blues rock isn't really my thing but this is definitely their best stuff, kind of like how Bob Seger's early acid rock albums are so much better than anything he's famous for.

Binro the Heretic - 2017-04-13

I know it's not that great a song, but it came out when my family moved from Monroeville, Alabama to Pensacola, Florida and hearing it on the radio was like getting out of jail.

Admittedly, this song has a creepy proto-MRA vibe. It tells the story of a guy who had a high school crush on a girl he never even spoke to. Then, when he grows up, he's devastated to find her baring it all in a nudie mag.

He gets over the heartbreak quickly, though, and begins to fantasize about finding her and taking her to a hotel for a fuck.

Anyway, The J. Geils Band also did the end credits song for "Fright Night" (1985) so I can forgive them.

Bort - 2017-04-13

By traditional standards, this song is downright benign. Even the slut-shaming is maybe only at 150 milliSwifts.

My favorite horrible song remains "What'll You Do About Me":

Lordy that's catchy.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2018-10-16

This isn't really MRA. MRA is reactionary. This is more like a throwback to when we didn't know any better.

Stopheles - 2020-10-03

"My blood runs cold...my memory has just been sold" would also be a solid Fear Factory lyric.
