I'm 37 and I don't have a single cavity, I have both my lower wisdom teeth, and no issues.

THANK FUCKING GOD.

My mother and my daughter both have brittle teeth, I don't know how I lucked out.

this was almost but not quite the visual approximation of nails on a chalkboard.

I just had something like this done last week, albeit as an emergency, oh god this fucking hurts kind of thing, as opposed to a cosmetic dentistry thing. Basically the tooth cracked down in the root and started abrading the nerve, so they had to do an extraction, followed by the screw implant. I'll get the new actual tooth in a few weeks when my gums have healed up.

Good times!

Nothing like tooth pain! I thought I was a Bad Enough Dude but after scheduling my canal and realizing it was not going to be for a WEEK I was on the horn begging my dentist for pills. I made it two days.

I had an abcess on the root of a tooth that really fired up the nerve. Absolute agony, couldn't sleep for the 3 days it took the dentist to see me for an extraction. They gave me lots of numbing injections but every time they took a grip of the fucker it felt like my skull was on fire.

The only option left to the dentist was to drill it open and inject it right into the nerve itself. She warned me it would hurt like crazy but that the second she pressed the plunger it would stop.

Hoo boy, when a dentist tells you something's going to hurt like crazy, that's not ever an understatement.

Just pure, blinding pain. Never felt the like, and hope I never do again!

I passed out completely and when I came to, there was a very worried dentist, senior dentist, dental nurse and my broken ass tooth had been removed.

My plan is to go with the "all on four" implant system when enough of my teeth fail. Instead of dentures or individual implants, it's basically a full set of connected upper/lower teeth anchored into your jawbone via four attachment screws.

Same here. Thanks to chemo/radiation treatments a decade or so ago, a lot of my teeth have developed serious issues and I'll likely end up losing a whole bunch.

Going to visit either Poland or Hungary for the treatment as they have world class dentistry but at prices that won't leave me enslaved to the debt for decades.

Too late.

After a point I was expecting he'd whip out the 1/2" forstner bit and install a table leg.

I had a root canal last year - honestly it was virtually painless. I was in and out in about 15 minutes, and the worst part about it was smelling the "burnt hair" smell of a tooth being heavily drilled into.
