SC looks fantastic as they have hired loads of great artists 3d modellers and so on and theyve been churning our awesome assets for a couple years. The problem is, they're building the game backwards, they havent actually built the game or its mechanics yet, so when they do, they'll certainly have to scrap years worth of high quality work. The entire project has looked like a total clusterfuck from the beginning, using cryengine for example is a bafflingly poor choice for a space game. Has anyone played it? Its always been a bug riddled mess, (even in this rehearsed demo by the developers they encountered a bug theyve never seen before)
I would love to play the game in Chris Roberts head but I dunno will their 100+M give them enough runway to fix the mess theyve been making and pay back the technical debt theyve been accumulating for the past few years.

/ skip for cynicism

How big is their actual team, by which I mean useful people like coders and artists, not fifty designers and producers, directors and other opinions which destroy productivity. The following list looks, well, a bit lopsided.

I wonder if we're dawning on a new trend of small groups crashing their tiny prototypes on the AAA rocky shoals by having too many bosses and not enough cubicle slaves to actually finish and fix things.

/ end cynicism

Just skipping around, this looks fucking cool!

What's the bottom part of that image?

memedumpster - 2016-08-28

I think it's a lack of shadows under the craft so bad that it looks like a screenshot from No Man's Sky.

Top is SC hanger, bottom is NMS hanger

I play it regularly. When new modules are released they tend to be pretty buggy, but they get patched regularly. It has been running pretty smoothly for me for the past year or so.

The drama around this game eclipses all others.

Looks alright, if they ever finish and release it properly 'next year'...

irrespective of everything else, i really hope that's a placeholder font for the interaction prompts

Elite Dangerous > Star Citizen > No Man's Sky.

The VR support and multi-player of Elite Dangerous is just so, so far ahead of everything else.

Raggamuffin - 2016-08-27

But sir, do you realize that Star Citizen has a wonderful plan for your life?

Nominal - 2016-08-27

The drama of this game's development alone is more entertaining than No Man's Sky.
