This is a crappy French Canadian cartoon based on the videogame.

This show was horrible but it did have a handful of moments where it seemed like the people in charge of it were aware of how horrible it was.

This feels like one of those moments.

Simply acknowledging that you've shit the bed isn't going to make the sheets smell any better.

The Sonic Boom show has a lot of 4th wall breakey moments as well. At one point Miles Prower was entertaining guests and set up a 2d platformer game for them. He explained that all they had to do was run towards the right and get rings as fast as they could. One guest said that sounded terrible.

At the end of season one, Orbot observed "Just think of all the hundreds more stories to be told with the same using the same eight characters and four locations! The possibilities are limitless!"

And let's not forget, "Whoops, one too many."

Teen Titans GO! regularly tears down the 4th wall as well, and just straight-up crashes a tour bus through it whenever certain characters like Control Freak show up.

Really, I think this would be best if Luka used her English bank on this one. Twas what it was designed for.

For some reason for all the "misses" this series had, there was the occasional moment of perfect humor and serendipity, and this is one of them.

You're crazy man. The DKC games are classics. DKC2 is easily one of the top three games in the entire SNES library.

I'll agree that they look like absolute crap on a modern television but damn, on an old CRT television through an S-Video hookup that shit looked awesome. No emulator out there can recreate how the graphics of the DKC games (and the original Killer Instinct, for that matter) are actually supposed to look. Rare seemingly used some weird voodoo witchcraft for their visuals.

I feel like it's actually a popular contrarian position to take. I remember hearing from detractors that Miyamoto didn't like it either, thinking it was all graphics and no gameplay, though I don't know if he actually said that. I don't agree and think it was pretty great. DK64, on the other hand, I found to be a tedious slog.

Tastes are going to vary between people. I think DKC1 and DKC2 are extremely fun platformers with wonderful music and (for the time) great graphics.

They're not bad games by any means, but I was always a bit underwhelmed by the DKC games. Nintendo hyped them as revolutionary games that would change the industry, but they really just offer typical platforming with no new ideas. Still well-made, though.
