Damn it, spoilers!

Cena_mark - 2016-07-24

True, but this episode came out months ago.

RedRust - 2016-07-24

Oh. Ok. Thought it was the one that was released yesterday.

EvilHomer - 2016-07-24

I'm not watching this clip, but why would Peridot want to fuse? She's already the best gem, and fusing with an inferior gem would only dilute her coolness.

This show is dumb and the writing is dumb and I don't know why anyone would watch it.

Cena_mark - 2016-07-24

That's Lapis who's the best. You're taste in gems is almost as bad as your taste in ponies. You like pegasi makes no sense that you wouldn't pick the only gem with wings.

EvilHomer - 2016-07-24

I don't like pegasi because they have wings, I like pegasi because they have the coolest powers and also the best characters are pegasi. Sure, you've got a few cool Earth ponies like Maud, Dimebag, Boysenberry, and Apple Fritter, and there might be a decent unicorn somewhere out there, but it's really no contest as to which race is the best.

Cena_mark - 2016-07-24

Lapis is the best. She's by far the deepest character.

Caminante Nocturno - 2016-07-24

She was tied for the deepest character next to Jasper until recently.

Sanest Man Alive - 2016-07-24

This is far from the best clip from this episode, anyway. That goes to Peridot obsessing over an old Canadian tween drama to the point of developing her own headcanon ship... from watching a single episode over and over.

The crew knows their real audience.

Cena_mark - 2016-07-24

Camp Pining Hearts really does make the episode awesome.
Nothing deep about Jasper. She's just a big mean brute. I hope Steven shatters her.

Xenocide - 2016-07-24

BEST HUMANS ON THIS SHOW NAMED AFTER FOOD: Onion, Onion's mom, Jenny Pizza, Enriched Riboflavin, Chives, Adolf the Enchilada Goblin, Enriched Riboflavin JR, The Erotic Madam Asparagus, Sour Cream

EvilHomer - 2016-07-25

Naming characters after food; Trope #715 that Rebecca Sugar stole from an anime.

Sour Cream and Onion are cool, but the best human character is Marty.

Xenocide - 2016-07-25

Yes, from what other possible source could Rebeca SUGAR have gotten the idea to food-based names?

memedumpster - 2016-07-25

Sugar isn't food.

It's a drug.

EvilHomer - 2016-07-25

From DBZ. She's stolen quite a lot from DBZ, in fact, including the idea for Fusions.

Xenocide - 2016-07-26

Now if only DBZ would steal "putting effort into your writing" from her.

Maggot Brain - 2016-07-24

Can somebody come up with a list of all the episodes that deal with the main plot? I want to like this show but the pacing is horrible and I don't want to wallow through Steven palling around Beach City over and over again.

Cena_mark - 2016-07-24

Pretty much all of them. There are episodes early on that feel like filler, but are revealed to be far more important later on. Episodes are just 12 minutes long, just sit back and feel your enjoyment grow as the series progresses.

baleen - 2016-07-24

this looks awful. i'm sorry.

Cena_mark - 2016-07-24

That's okay baleen. They made Teen Titans Go! for people like you who can't handle the depth of Steven Universe.

Xenocide - 2016-07-24

If you're watching in order, there's a lot of early episodes that seem pointless but stuff introduced in them is important later. Even the supporting townspeople are all given storylines that develop over time so almost every episode moves some portion of the various plots forward.

That said, a lot of the early episodes are pretty weak compared to how great the show gets later. Once you get past that early period though, it's hard to find an episode you'd want to skip. Except maybe the one where Cartoon Network made them do a crossover with Uncle Grandpa, but that one isn't canon anyway.

Cena_mark - 2016-07-25

Say Uncle is canon. Uncle Grandpa lied when he said it wasn't. There is lots of evidence supporting this like when Steven says, "Good Morning" to Peridot as per UG's instructions, same as him polishing his gem as per UG's instructions, and his better understanding of his powers after that episode.

RedRust - 2016-07-24

Steven Universe appeals to the masses. It is simple, and carefree. There isn't really even a focused direction for the show in terms of plot. The issue with "the cluster" has already been resolved, and "yellow diamond" is still out there in outer space.

Chancho - 2016-07-24

The masses? I thought this was made by and for hardcore SJWs?

Never watched it because it looks like shit.

Cena_mark - 2016-07-24

What's wrong with being an SJW? It certainly beats being the opposite, the Status Quo Warrior or the Social Hegemony Warrior.

Chancho - 2016-07-24

I never said there was anything wrong with being a SJW you stupid cuck.

Just kidding, but I thought it was a niche show.

EvilHomer - 2016-07-25

If SJWs are the norm these days, wouldn't that make *them* the Status Quo Warriors?

Binro the Heretic - 2016-07-25

Subtle.

15th - 2016-07-25

Animation looks like an insurance commercial.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2016-07-25

Is everything on this show a metaphor for lesbianism?

Cena_mark - 2016-07-25

Fusion doesn't equate to sex. It's symbolic of relationships. That would make the fusion of Steven and Connie rather creepy as they were 13 and 12 when they first fused.
