I like how he never hid his daddy issues.

About this time, I sent him a fan letter. He sent me back a huge care package of original Spumco art and internal development documents. My dad destroyed it because he felt envious of a stranger.

Old_Zircon - 2016-07-01 I had a friend in high school whose dad worked at the same ad firm as Warhol, but a couple years later after Warhol started to get big. When he left, he took literally hundreds of original, early Warhol illustrations with him.
I'm fuzzy on the details of how they ended up at hi dad's house (my friend's grandfather) but they did, and the dad threw them all in the garbage. Not because he didn't know who Warhol was, but because he thought Warhol's art was bad.
Pretty much the worst story like that I've ever heard.

cognitivedissonance - 2016-07-02 Yeah, I saw the same daddy issues in Kricfalusi as I had in myself.
My brother has been willed a Goya by his wife's incredibly wealthy family. I've told him it's likely value and he said "As soon as the parents are dead, it's on the auction block." Kind of sad, but if he doesn't see the value, sell it to someone who does.

Mister Yuck - 2019-03-14 I wouldn't want something that nice in my house. Sell it, buy a nice reproduction, spend the money you would've spent on insurance on museum memberships.
