All I'm seeing is literal recorded video game footage and random banter between the characters in the background. Is this supposed to be funny to people who like Lets Plays?

Going to play devil's advocate here, watching someone play a game is really the best way to figure out if you'll like a game, especially now that gaming journalism and criticism went from being a joke to being a joke that crawled up its own ass. It's also useful if you've ever wanted to see what a game is like but don't have any intention of buying it.

There are some people who are entertaining to listen to while they play games. It's like a talk radio show, only with a video game happening over it.

When it's a company notorious for taking down any video featuring the tiniest bit of their material, then yes it's bullshit.

What if it was something other than a video game? Footage of you controlling your RC plane? Flying a kite at the beach? Would it be okay if a media conglomerate then used it as stock footage for their popular national TV show?
