Tasha!

Also this scene was very depressing in the book, I have young kids and it is hard to think about.

+5 stars for child death
-3 stars for not showing the impact
+3 stars for the bloody shoe
+1 million stars for the NOOOOOOOOO! montage.

I didn't get to see this in the theater, but my family rented it on video when it came out. We watched it on a Saturday night with some of my parents' adult friends.

One of them was this guy named Jake who I absolutely could not stand. He wasn't really one of my parents' friends, he was one of those friend-of-a-friend people who always seems to tag along with the actual friend. He was an old buddy of one of my dad's friends from work.

After the adults had some beers and talked for a while, we dimmed the lights and sat down to watch "Pet Sematary". Jake pretty much ruined this scene for everyone expressing his glee and delight at Gage's death and loudly cheering the truck on. He talked about his girlfriend's toddler son and how much attention the "little brat" got from her and how he wished that kid would get run over by a truck.

One of the ladies who was there, hard to say which since they all hated Jake, let the girlfriend know about this charming little scene and she quickly dumped him. He was so mad, he vowed never to grace our group with his presence again.

So, hey, happy ending.

This was one of the most genuinely upsetting things I'd ever seen when I was 9.

I had no problem watching this scene.

...it was the Church scenes I couldn't watch.
