The New Meat - 2016-01-06

FINALLY

dairyqueenlatifah - 2016-01-06

Directed by Flounder from Animal House. Really.

I actually watched this entire movie about fifteen years ago. I'm not watching it again, because I still remember far too much of it.

Five stars because based on my rather vivid memories of it, it indeed belongs here. The train wreck musical numbers alone warrant it. The all-washed-up-desperate-for-a-paycheck-star cast alone warrants it. The unfathomably bad acting alone warrants it. The scenes where Baby Huey's giant dead eyes are the focal point alone warrant it. The scene where a grown man shoves his hand down Baby Huey's diaper which startles him and causes the egg he was holding to fly through a window into a creepy old man's mouth alone warrants it.

Sounds like a date night movie to me! I'll see how long I keep this one..

I never knew this movie existed. I zipped ahead until Baby Huey came on screen and uh..the dead eyes. THE DEAD SOULLESS EYES.

He eats all the children at the end, right?

It's.. It's live action?

The homerun into Dean Wormer's office takes the cake.

It's like Martin Taras, who created the character of Baby Huey for Paramount Famous Pictures in 1949, predicted the rise of the "Adult Baby/diaper" fetish community nearly half a century before there was an Internet for people to become aware of the existence of such a fetish.

(Yes, I did look up the creator's name on said Internet.)

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2016-01-07

To be fair, I'm sure there were fetishists and perverted weirdos back then, too. They just didn't have the ability to hook up and find each other. So they kept it to themselves.

Except for J.M. Barrie because holy fuck have you ever actually heard about the shit he used to write?

dairyqueenlatifah - 2016-01-07

Yeah. It's not that fucked up fetishism didn't exist long before the internet, it's just that there was no way for people to find each other and congregate before the internet, and in turn they basically had no idea there were other people that shared their weird hangups so they just kept it inside and jerked off silently in dark corners.

sasazuka - 2016-01-08

To be fair, in-universe, Baby Huey actually is a chick and isn't the rooster equivalent of an Adult Baby/Diaper enthusiast, he just hatched fully-grown from a very large egg.

But the classic Baby Huey cartoons always made me suspect like one or more of the writers seemed to be aware of the existence of adults who dressed like babies for kicks. Not saying they had the fetish themselves, just saying they were aware of it, as underground as it may have been compared to the Internet era.

Cinematography by JM Stephens, also well renowned for his work on Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom and Titanic. RIP
