This looks like fun.

badideasinaction - 2015-11-12 Been playing it with friends on PS4; it's a blast. It's great for playing with friends where you're okay berating each other for them killing you with friendly fire. Again. Don't think I'd want to play with random online people given how easy it is to kill everyone or get killed, but the frantic mission feel is a lot of fun.

infinite zest - 2015-11-12 Off topic but has anybody else played Killer Queen? That's the most fun I've ever had playing a game, and I play a fuck ton of pinball. There's only 10 or so cabinets out there spread across the United States, but ask your local bar/arcade for one. :)

infinite zest - 2015-11-12 Yay! It's freeplay night at my arcade so I'm gonna see if I can play it before all the hipsters show up oh shit that's me.

Can someone explain the point of a Steam Machine?
|
badideasinaction - 2015-11-12 From my understanding the actual proposed steam machine would be a sort of PC as a modular console with somewhat-fixed hardware choices so steamOS could support the more limited set of graphics cards and chipsets. At least that was my vague understanding of it, but I don't think that part has progressed much. The Steam controller is out now and plays pretty well with PCs at least.

Aelric - 2015-11-12 It's going to be a stop-gap at best as local streaming is improving so fast that the idea of steam machines are already becoming irrelevant. The idea is a box small enough to fit in a living room cabinet or shelf hooked to the TV. A PC couch console if you will.
But things like steam link, as they get better and better about latency, is more likely to become the thing, streaming from your PC in your home office or bedroom to the TV in the living room. Steam machines cost just as much as a more powerful full sized TV does, which a steam link is a relatively cheap accessory.
Honestly, just stick your regular PC case behind the TV and attach an HDMI cable and don't bother with such tomfoolery, I say.

Sputum - 2015-11-13 I moved my main pc into the living room for a party a few months back and I've just left it there since.
Got 4 xbox controllers with the microsoft wireless dongle for them, and a bunch of party games on steam. PC is the best console.
Posting this from the couch on my giant 4k
