worth way more than a beer

The old lady who traded Dog for a beer was last seen trading a handful of beans for a dried-up old cow.

TV detective Columbo's Dog was named Dog too, a Bassett Hound. This story has been out for a long time hasn't it, I saw the motorcycle riding Dog in a supermarket tabloid story years ago, I did think he was a Labrador.

That's right, easier to get along with than a girlfriend, well the men's rights activists should like that! I've even barked to friends when they have girl trouble that they should try a Dog for a companion. Maybe there's even a Dog owning section of the MRAs, pets are better than people.

Boomer, you're the best.

It seems that every time someone on this website brings up MRAs, their posts are really sarcastic, angry, and mean-spirited. Not you, though! When you bring up MRAs, you do so merely to offer helpful advice, in a kind and understanding manner. I know you are a dog and not a person, but you've got the whole "being a person" thing down pat. I think maybe you should write a book on internet etiquette; make it required reading for everydoggie. Arf arf!

I don't know if dogs can be a total replacement for girlfriends, but I imagine they are better than nothing. There's that old cliche, of the lonely spinster living with a ton of cats - well, maybe lonely unmarried men can own dogs; just perhaps not too many of them, like one or two at the most.

I know a lady at work who specializes in therapy dogs: she has a little, I believe he's a bichon-terrier mix, who's been trained as a service dog, and comes to the hospital four times a week to hang out with elderly patients. Maybe we could offer something like that to lonely people in the community - a rent-a-dog service where comfort dogs come over and hang out for a few hours? Or maybe have a building, like a cuddle cafe, except with dogs? And then MRAs or SJWs or whomever, instead of fighting on the internet, they could come to the Doggie Cafe, have some food, pet some dogs, and chill out?

I won't argue the dogs>girlfriends. Dogs are better than people, period.

Thanks Homer, it seems obvious to me, this guy has a Dog for a bro, loves his bike, and is getting positive attention with his Dog as a riding partner, and it seems they're having a great time in life.

People have told me I should write a book. I could do Musings of a Mutt, with some little drawings in it. It's hard to explain how to be a Dog though, you should probably have your own connection with something with great meaning to you, that's what I usually bark.

I think everyone has a different level of closeness they need to others, I feel fulfilled with Dogs and Humans as friends. My instinct for having a family is not strong, I think it's because I lived with my parents for a long time at adult ages, so I don't have the urge to jump back in, that's one thing.

That's really cool about the therapy Dog, he probably is lively and has a nice friendly face that makes people happy right away. Pets have a special place in a hospital, nurses, doctors telling people what to do all day, and the Dog comes in and isn't demanding, and just wants to be petted. There are also Dogs who sit and listen patiently as kids read to them, and don't correct wrong words, they're good listeners.

I think a pet lounge like you described might be a good idea, for those who don't want to actually own a pet or can't, but want a little Dog time. I'd sure want to attend that! You can spend time with pets at animal rescues, walking, feeding, playing with them, but that's more goal oriented than just friendship and buddies.
