God he is so not funny. Is this the best he can do?

The Mothership - 2015-09-01

I man he can't even get his suits to fit for God's sake.

Gmork - 2015-09-01

It's odd.. I have the reverse happening. I used to intensely hate him since the early days, and now it's been so long I forgot why I hated him and every appearance I do see of him is bland yet benign and inoffensive.

The Mothership - 2015-09-01

Oh I don't hate Jimmy, I just think he's painfully unfunny.

Gmork - 2015-09-01

This clip really does highlight that he is now the old man and no longer "hip" or "with it".

Anaxagoras - 2015-09-02

You're dating yourself, gramps. The kids these days don't say "hip" or "with it", even jokingly.

You're right, though.

theSnake - 2015-09-01

What he doesnt realize is that anyone who would possibly be a fan of his show is probably an avid videogame player. I imagine there is a lot of overlap in this venn diagram. Meanwhile conan is making clueless gamer.

theSnake - 2015-09-01

Next week on Kimmel Live jimmy insults pot heads and guys with male pattern baldness, cant understand the hooplah

Cena_mark - 2015-09-02

That's just like the idiot UFC announcer Joe Rogan's rants about professional wrestling. He doesn't realize the big overlap between wrestling and MMA fans. Even the UFC's biggest draw Ronda Rousey is huge wrestling fan and Rogan accused her of merely using wrestling for attention.

infinite zest - 2015-09-02

I always liked Joe Rogan, mostly because he's a big advocate for DMT, and he's a smart, funny guy. Never liked the MMA or his love for it either, but to each their own. Is his criticism the usual "Pro wrestling isn't REAL" like MMA is? Because that's pretty low. There's a lot of pro wrestlers who could probably outmatch MMA fighters, and just because what they're doing is somewhat scripted doesn't mean that they're actors that get to do multiple takes and things like that. In a lot of ways, what pro wrestlers do is much more impressive than MMA fighters, because of the fact that they're putting on an incredibly choreographed performance vs. 2 dudes beating the shit out of each other.

I mean, I don't really follow either sport but I'm surprised that someone as intelligent as Rogan has the "wrestling's fake" attitude like that of a 12 year-old kid who finds out that the Undertaker isn't actually dead, the wrestling equivalent of finding out that the tooth fairy isn't real..

Cena_mark - 2015-09-02

He generally was discussing the phoniness and lack of realism, but then again I've seen older interviews where he was praising their athleticism and hard work.

A reaction video to reactions.

Teens reacting to teens reacting to teens reacting to Jimmy Kimmel reacting to teens reacting to Jimmy Kimmel.

magnesium - 2015-09-02

Get with the times, Jimmy. Everyone knows by now that Gamers have a right not to be offended.

urbanelf - 2015-09-02

I'm not sure how to rate this. Remind me: does "hack comedian" get 1 star or 5?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-09-02

Wow, it's all over the comments, a tragic lack of irony. Apparently, all play makes Jack a dull boy.

Crab Mentality - 2015-09-02

He made fun of someone's hobby! This is the greatest outrage that has ever been!

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-09-02

Kimmel isn't hilarious, but he' s likable and intelligent. Recently, they did a segment where they asked kids questions about gay marriage, and their simple unaffected answers were a revelation.

I love this segment, not because it makes fun of gamers, but because it makes fun of painfully unironic internet rage. He just released another video of these.

Shoebox Joe - 2015-09-02

"I love this segment, not because it makes fun of gamers, but because it makes fun of painfully unironic internet rage. He just released another video of these."

I was hoping someone would catch that. The aforementioned video he made seemed more playful than mean spirited. It's as if youtube has become a secondary form of social security.

Kimmel has brought his own sense of charm with his fake viral videos. I'm just waiting for the cluster fuck when he brings on Anita.

EvilHomer - 2015-09-03

I don't know what's worst, John, The fact that you find Jimmy Kimmel to be "likable and intelligent", the fact that you're easily manipulated by child-based propaganda, or the fact that you actually derive pleasure from watching cyber-bullies, such as Kimmel, harass people and make them feel bad.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-09-03

>>The aforementioned video he made seemed more playful than mean spirited. It's as if youtube has become a secondary form of social security.

Full disclosure. I do not understand the social security reference AT ALL. The comments to this video were not uniformly raging, and Kimmel acknowledged that, A lot of people, including gamers, showed a sense of humor, and were promptly accused of not being "real gamers" . The negative comments that stood are not notable for their rage so much as their appalling cluelessness:

"Jimmy doesn't know he will lose this debate."

"Notice that he only read the dumb comments, instead of the intelligent,well-thought out ones. That's biased!"

>>, the fact that you're easily manipulated by child-based propaganda,

Not a clue what that means.

>>or the fact that you actually derive pleasure from watching cyber-bullies, such as Kimmel, harass people and make them feel bad.

Cyber-bullying needs to be mean, personal, and unprovoked. It's not cyber bullying to make fun of youtube, and if someone has a TV show, and you send him a message that you hope he gets cancer, it's not cyberbullying when he reads it on the air, especially if he doesn't give out any personal information.

EvilHomer - 2015-09-03

>> Recently, they did a segment where they asked kids questions about gay marriage, and their simple unaffected answers were a revelation.

^ That's what it means. You're a sucker for child-based propaganda, quite possibly the laziest and most transparently manipulative of all methods of propaganda. Kids are stupid and have no minds of their own; they will repeat back anything that an adult tells them. Whenever you see an entertainment segment of the form, "Wow! Watch these children voice a supposedly controversial opinion that you agree with!", this is what is happening: an adult has told the child to say something, the child repeats it back, it's filmed and distributed to easily-manipulated middle-aged people, the kind of people who ascribe way too much importance and wisdom to little kids.

Kimmel's producers are playing you, John. Next thing you know, you'll be buying angel statues on QVC.

>> It's not cyber bullying to make fun of youtube

It is when you're singling out a very specific group on Youtube, and being horrendously cruel to them!

Here, consider the following statement:

"Davis Aurini isn't hilarious, but he' s likable and intelligent... I love his videos, not because they make fun of women, but because they make fun of painfully unironic internet rage. He just released another video of these."

Is that a reasonable statement? If not, why not? What problems might there be?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-09-02

This reminds me how when I was 18, we used to go over to my friend's house, get high and watch him play PONG. Watching people play PONG is so boring that it's actually a form of meditation.
