Every time I begin to think about playing through mass effect to finish them, I just go play BG2 enhanced edition instead.

Aelric - 2015-06-18

Probably a good move. That said, I still think that Mass Effects universe is worthy of more stories. 3 kinda threw them all away, but there is room to work in the time before the events of 3 in an anthology sort of way. Some low states stories could have been cool.

Going to another galaxy kinda throws it all away, doesn't it? I mean, will they flesh it out like they did originally? I don't know. There was a time that Mass Effect felt like one to the better setting in science fiction, not just games, and now I just sorta worry it was all for nothing.

At least I'll always have The Witcher.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-18

*Enhanced Edition*? Don't tell me you've never heard of tutu.

SolRo - 2015-06-18

I went out and bought an Xbox just to get mass effect 1, and it was worth it, even if I hardly played any other games on it.

2 still had the great story but the gameplay started going downhill into FPS-bro-gamer valley.

3 was even worse and the story was barely holding together.

By this trend line, I'm definitely not going to bother with the 4th until a PC port being on sale, unless the entire review base for the game orgasims in unison over it.

RedHood - 2015-06-18

I have this habit of procrastinating around trying certain things until it gets to the point where I just convince myself "too much time has past to bother". I tend to do this mostly with really popular video game or television series. I don't know why I do. I have never played this, The fall-out series, or the Witcher games. This and Fall-out look totally up my alley and I am going to play them. I feel like I need to. I tried to like Witcher 1-2 but holy fuck the clunk-truck game play was a bit much.

It's just really hard to put down books sometimes OK?

Aelric - 2015-06-18

Yeah, the Witcher games have never been mechanically great, but the most resent one doesn't require you play the previous two and plays much better than those ever did (that said, it's a narrative-first game, meaning that the combat, while greatly improved, was still not the true focus of the game.)

blue vein steel - 2015-06-19

i really liked 2. Didn't play 1, heard it's not worth it. But 2 is really good.

Chocolate Jesus - 2015-06-18

what makes any of you think this will be any better than the last couple ME games?

Chocolate Jesus - 2015-06-18

not a rhetorical question

EvilHomer - 2015-06-18

Nobody thinks this will be any better than the last couple ME games.

Five stars!

TheOtherCapnS - 2015-06-18

I definitely don't think it will be better. Or worse. I have no idea how it's going to play or what it will be about from this trailer, and it's also well over a year away.

Five stars!

infinite zest - 2015-06-18

I haven't even played Mass Effect!

Four stars because that's how many Mass Effects there are!

OxygenThief - 2015-06-19

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

blue vein steel - 2015-06-19

I wonder which sci-fi series they'll steal the story from this time? They already owe Alistair Reynolds for using the Revelation Space plot. I'm guessing they'll use Baxter's Xeelee Sequence for this one.

infinite zest - 2015-06-20

I hadn't actually watched the trailer until just now. I've never seen the show but it seems to have a sort of Firefly thing with the music (if anything maybe it's a good soundtrack..) I dunno.. seems like there's too many big epic games coming out all the time. I made the mistake of buying New Vegas and getting Just Cause 2 for free on the same semi-drunken XBL binge and now I'm trying to play through both of them and I'm thinking I'll be done about a year after this game comes out. Seems like there were only one or two really memorable "big" games when I was a kid, like FF7, and the rest were just fun games you'd sort of play around FF7. I dunno I'm gettin' old.

The Mothership - 2015-06-18

I've never played HALO, and even I can see that this is just another HALO.

Also, please spell Andromeda correctly for the tag to link.

FABIO - 2015-06-19

A different galaxy? Man, they are going down the checklist of every possible Star Control 3 plot point that they have yet to rip off.

WHY RIP OFF THE WORST STAR CONTROL?

Lurchi - 2015-06-19

NO WAY am I buying this after getting ripped off with Dragon Age Inquisition, the first PC game I've ever played that doesn't work with a keyboard and mouse.

chumbucket - 2015-06-19

If it can get beyond planet hopping just to upgrade abilities and guns for the eventual boss fight then sure, I'll buy it.

Stopheles - 2015-06-19

Oh boy, the MAKO is back!!!

roofle - 2015-06-19

I pretty much wrote off Bioware after Dragon Age 2 + ME3. Months after DA:Inquisition came out, and reading all the positive stuff about it (mainly how they actually tried to make a good game this time,) I relented and bought it on the cheap. To my surprise I ended up enjoying it a lot.

Hopefully they don't drop the ball on this one, part 3 made me really not care about the series much anymore.
