All those dancers that come out at 4:02 would just have no place in entertainment now. They'd all starve or go into stripping. I love how many different crazy things happen for the first 4 minutes. It's like a Bosch painting.
I think what I like about this most is the gigantic human billboard.

Dick Powell is one of those stars that time forgot. He was like Tom Hanks, if Tom Hanks could carry a tune and melt a cocktail's panties.
There's something very David Lynch-ian about old-timey dance theater.
