I submitted the first one of these some time ago, and it never got out of the hopper. Glad they are here now, I can't really get over how beautiful these are.

This is really good. I mean really, really good. Like, say what you want about Disneyland and princess fetishes and shit, but this is A+ animation and writing.

The Mothership - 2015-04-24

Like 50 years from now people will still watch this, not because it's Disney, but because it's good. That's how good this is.

infinite zest - 2015-04-25

Yeah this is great. I had to work under Disney for a summer and expected the worst but they were super cool as far as theatre companies go. Kinda makes me wish I'd gone to Disneyland when I was a kid instead of Nickelodeon Studios.. nevermind that shit was awesome.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-04-25

I honestly think they've created something which deserves praise. House of Mouse had some good animation to it, as well as some fairly good writing but this has hit it way out of the park. I never expected them to write shorts again that made me laugh this hard.

Between this and Gravity Falls, Tangled, Frozen, and the various artists they are showcasing on their channel, they are really pioneering a new golden era. I think part of it is they realized playing it safe doesn't really get you into people's collective memories so they upped their game, especially when seeing what their competition was doing in terms of writing.

It's interesting to note that in the Golden Age of animation in the 40s and 50s the two giants were Disney and Looney Tunes but they have gone in completely opposite directions of late. WB has tried to push Looney Tunes in various forms for years, but hasn't bothered to make it actually funny. It's like they forgot how.

My "favorite" Looney Tunes thing is Bugs Bunny riding into town and teaching Daffy Duck about good nutrition. (You should remember it RoUS, you're the one who submitted it and inflicted it on us, you big jerk.) Second favorite is the one with Yosemite Sam helping Porky Pig calculate his BMI and develop a sensible exercise regimen. And of course the one where Foghorn Leghorn helps Marvin the Martian select a doctor in his network.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-04-25

also: Hazel the Witch as a sassy black woman and Gossamer the monster as a 13 year old who happens to be her son because whaaa?

I think my favorite awful episode was the one where it was them sitting in a diner and nothing was happening but having trouble ordering, because they were ripping off freaking Seinfeld.

The nutrition episodes were hilariously bad and PC and pretty much the polar opposite of what the series ever stood for, which was to never moralize to the audience.

One thing that's weird tho, I've never seen more enthusiastic Broadway reps and touring performers than those who work under the Mouse, and that's saying something. For me, if I ever have to hear Circle Of Life again I will punch the nearest person, and I'm a pacifist.

Cena_mark - 2015-04-25

I get it. These cartoons are amusing, but now we're aware of their existence. I find it disturbing that adults are obsessing over Mickey Mouse. This site is being taken over by brouses.

BROUSES UNITE!

Though I'm more of a Donald Duck kind of guy. He is my spirit animal.

EvilHomer - 2015-04-25

The thing about Brouses is, they're completely oblivious to anything non-rodent. COMPLETELY. OBLIVIOUS.

Get a life, Brouses!

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-04-25

I have held my tongue back for years as the pony show made its way through the ranks here and said nothing. It never made me laugh, and I can't stand it.

THE TIME OF THE BROUSES IS NIGH!

Cena_mark - 2015-04-25

Its clear from your name where you stand. I'm sorry if the vast world of Equestria is too deep for you, with its multipart episodes and ongoing story arcs. Enjoy your 3 minute cartoons.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-04-26

I will, thank you so much! I have no attention span so

Bort - 2015-04-25

So after 80 years or whatever, they decided to make Mickey Mouse entertaining rather than just a mascot? Bold move.

The Mothership - 2015-04-25

That's why it will work.

gravelstudios - 2015-04-25

So is John Lasseter behind this? Because he's been behind every good decision Disney has made in like, the last 10 years.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2015-04-25

Counter point: John Lasseter is responsible for selling out all the great work Pixar did to sequel faggotry like Mike Eisner did to every good thing Walt Disney made.

Cena_mark - 2015-04-25

Counter to your counter point. Sure Lasseter made sequels, but unlike the awful, cheap, direct to video sequels of the Eisner era the Lasseter sequels are pretty good. Shit like the Cars series was to make Pixar more cash to ensure their creative freedom, and the Toy Story sequels were great. You talk about his decisions like they're all Pocahontas 2.5.

themilkshark - 2015-04-25

Good stuff, thanks Bob Iger!
