Vic & Bob were a poor man's Mayall & Edmondson.
House of Fools (which is one of the funniest things on tv anywhere right now) is really just Bottom in disguise.
I think the first couple seasons of Mighty Boosh were original and great. Luxury comedy is hipstery but also original and funny. If you get the references it's because you're a cool dude.

I've not seen any of Noel's new standup but the pre-Boosh stuff he did with Moon/Barratt is really funny.
