I love this movie. It's a classic of its era. If you were ever a fan of hip hop in the late 80s/early 90s, this is your film.

What is Rusty Cundieff up to these days?

I must have watched this 100 times when I was a teenager. The only other thing I've seen from Rusty Cundieff after this was Tales from the hood. Looking at his IMDB page it looks like the last noteworthy thing he did was direct part of Movie 43. He deserves better!

I didn't know that he directed Chappelle's Show, but that totally makes sense. I always felt kinda bad for The Wayans Brothers and such, because they're really funny but there was much more $ to be made in banal "family"-oriented sitcoms and Scary Movie Pt. Whatever than I'm Gonna Get You Sucka and Don't Be A Menace, which I believe were pretty much flops, at least at the Box Office. But Chappelle's Show was more successful than any of those! I'm surprised Rusty wasn't like "fuck you I'm doing Fear of a Black Hat pt. 2!"

Is Movie 43 any good? I remember wanting to see it because I got sort of obsessed with James Gunn after Slither and Super (oh and some obscure little indie film called Guardians of the Galaxy) but I've only heard bad things.

Never seen movie 43, but I'm going to go ahead and say it's not good.

187 on a CB4 plot.

Yeah, it's been well over a decade and a half since I saw either one, but CB4 seemed to know what it was parodying a lot more than FoaBH, which went from Public Enemy to NWA to 2 Live Crew and then some, basically just rap culture in general in the early 90s. All things considered though, I'll take Don't Be A Menace over both in terms of overall zeitgeisty parody. This is still great though.
