Criticizing Islam is the same as being racist at muslims, because any criticism of Islam is Islamaphobia which frequently contains racist anti-arab elements so therefore criticizing Islam is being racist.

This has become the standard Muslim claim on the internet in response to any criticism of Islam in any form, and also, in somewhat less extreme form, is a observation from many progressive groups.

"Dawkins is a racist!" is the new popular way to dismiss him, as seen in Xenocide's post above. I'm sure many Christian fundamentalists are sad they didn't think of it years ago. It dovetails very nicely with the "Dawkins was never a progressive, because he's an ignorant upper class white academic who's said some dumb things about women in recent years" position now, too.

Honestly, the right wing should buy a gift basket or something for the left, for how eagerly and rapidly it eats its own at the drop of a hat.

He's said some pretty problematic things on Twitter recently, and when he gets called on it he claims he was just being sarcastic. Not just the anti-Islam stuff but a bunch of transphobic and misogynistic stuff as well.
