"Common given law right" should be a tag.

Oscar Wildcat - 2015-01-06

"It's Advision."

Old_Zircon - 2015-01-06

All else aside, it being illegal to record a police officer is indefensible.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2015-01-06

In the comments, it's noted on the officer's departmental website that it's not illegal to record the police going about their duties.

Old_Zircon - 2015-01-06

Ok, that's good to know. At least they didn't beat him up and take his cell phone like too many of them do here.

I seriously don't understand how the minds of these "Natural Law" people work, it's fucking bonkers. What is it that makes them think they can use the world that is built by others but not accept or abide by the rules set by others??

If he was an actual lawyer and was citing legal loopholes that allow him to park his car upside-down or some shit then fine but to just flat out say "That's YOUR law, not MINE" is just so infantile.

What the FUCK is with these yahoos???

StanleyPain - 2015-01-07

It's a long story, but basically it's this new trend with crazy wingnuts that somehow your physical person is someone entirely different from your legal entity (the one that exists on paper as a government being) and that you, as a person, never consented to having yourself governed by the same system that governs your legal persona, so therefore if you want to opt out of society, you can choose to renounce your legal name and "entity" and claim domain over yourself or some bullshit. These folks have a bizarre obsession with maritime law and one of the arguments is that if you spend enough time off land, you can be declared no longer a citizen and then don't have to pay taxes or obey laws or some nonsense (based on a deep misunderstanding of laws that allow people to be declared dead after being lost at sea.
There's a ton of accompanying pseudo-law that basically argues how using weird legal terminology can somehow gain you special rights you are not normally allowed.

Word salad.

Not sure why the Ireland tag, this is the north-east of England.

"Are you here under oath today, officer?"

"No, I'm just doing some freelance police work between jobs. I couldn't sleep tonight, so I figured I'd just throw on my uniform and Police for a couple hours."
