There's something really weird about watching this on youtube. There's so much pride in this one and if they decided to do a story of Youtube documentary, they'd have to bring up that the first video was just guy explaining everything we wanted to know about elephants, but were too afraid to ask. Now THAT'S a pioneer, folks, I now know that Elephants have long trunks and I'm not afraid to tell the world either!

I have an article from, I think, 1910, called 'Radio: God's Gift To Humanity' that's full of idealism like this television film. It talks about things like people from city to farm hearing the world's great symphonies, operas and teachers. What is it about 100 years later but Open House Party and Rush Limbaugh.

A Youtube documentary will skip over the first ten years and show Justin Bieber and other commercial successes.

I was thinking that for a while. The one station I loved was this little AM punk rock station in Portland back in the 90s called The Beat, and then they switched to FM and totally.. well it's subjective, but it was top 40 "alternative" (and the rest of the stations were top 40 "everything else" so I stopped listening to the radio completely. But lately I've been listening to a local station called xray (xray.fm if you're interested and want to listen across the country) which really brings me back to those days. In a lot of ways, poeTV is to youtube what xray is to mainstream radio. :)

hehe.. in case you're reading this right now, they do have Thom Hartmann in the morning, who I often don't agree with, but 90% is music I've never heard of, and that Pandora can't tell me either. It's pretty rad.
