Why dont these god damn peasants like us?

Oscar Wildcat - 2014-10-03

I keep expecting Bob McAllister from Wonderama to start singing "...and though we're small, we try our best, to do our thing, just like the rest. Republicans, are people too. Waka-do. Waka-do."

Crab Mentality - 2014-10-03

"Are you ready to engage in more constructive dialogue?"

Nope. Fuck you evil bastards.

Ocyrus - 2014-10-03

When the GOP reigns in the TeaBaggers, and their vile rhetoric towards Liberals, reminiscent of Nazi rhetoric on Jews and Communists, then I'll consider Republicans people too.

Adham Nu'man - 2014-10-03

What meaningful dialogue? Your first utterance in this "conversation" was "Republicans are people too". Where did you expect this incredible, high level conversation to go from such splendid foundations?

Adham Nu'man - 2014-10-03

Even without being rude the only responses I envision could be "True, Republicans ARE people too", or "No, Republicans are NOT people". If you want "meaningful dialogue" why not start with something that is actually conductive to an exchange of ideas?

Oh I see, you just want to play victim and hope to get on that civil rights bandwagon by painting yourselves as a discriminated minority. Good luck with that, bigoted white people and the handful of minority loons that share your political views.

magnesium - 2014-10-03

Why are they so bad at this? Every time republicans try to recruit outside their core demographic, they assume they can just say "Look, we have a woman and we have a black!" and women and minorities and hipsters will of course vote for whomever sort of looks like them. What more do you lesser beings want?

Seriously, it's not like it's hard to find self proclaimed liberals who still lean conservative on certain hot-button issues. It is shockingly easy to lean across the aisle, whisper "hey, we hate X, too, would you care to read some of our pamphlets?" and reel in a big bunch of millennials.

TheSupafly - 2014-10-03

Its projection, they think everyone is as dumb as their mainstream base- all they have to do for them is throw out some stuff about god, yammer about how everyone else is trying to break the things they like, and then fire a gun into the air.

Maggot Brain - 2014-10-03

Who likes putting together crap from Ikea?

SolRo - 2014-10-03

lesbians.

but republicans cant be lesbians, so they self-destruct.

Void 71 - 2014-10-03

"Republicans read the New York Times."

They're called neocons and they throw the paper away after they finish reading the middle east section.

Sudan no1 - 2014-10-03

Anyone mention that all the pictures of people are stockphotos yet?

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/republicans-are-people-t oo-stock-photo

memedumpster - 2014-10-03

What scares me most is that somewhere there is a group of propaganda prodigies that came up with a way to destroy for all time the Republican party's image in two simple videos pieced together from easily accessible resources. This is the dirty bomb of anti-Republican propaganda, and I am horrified a little for Republicans. You're looking at a party that is racist, murderous, sexist, and completely indefensible, but got away with it, being kicked in the teeth by the simple notion that they're not exactly who they are.

This may be that Rosco's Basilisk thing the auti-hipsto-nerds worship showing off its horrifically perfect intellect from the future or something.

misterbuns - 2014-10-03

No it was a guy named Minchillo or something who was Romney's ad guru. Whatever that means.

Gallez - 2014-10-04

"Republicans would just like to set some things straight.

[Stock footage of the flag waving as the national anthem plays]
We believe in equal rights for women, and we know there's more work to be done on that. Likewise, we believe that racism is a divisive cancer in this great nation of ours, and needs to be wiped out so that there can be equal opportunities for everyone lucky enough to be born here.

And for those not lucky enough to be born here, obviously we can't open our borders to indiscriminate immigration, but we can all at least agree violent and expensive border control policies targeting the poorest and most desperate dehumanize us all.

And also we want to take away your guns. Vote Republican!"

That would be way more damaging.

fluffy - 2014-10-03

Maybe if these ads had anything about specifically Republican views that might be enticing to people based on actual ideological agreement they'd be more successful than simply pandering based on superficial crap that has nothing to do with the message at hand.

Also maybe if they used examples of things that weren't the very same things that conservative blowhards use as examples of things that only Liberals do as part of a facile yet non-sequitur slur.

Pope Caius - 2014-10-03

GREETINGS, FELLOW HU-MANS. THIS IS YOUR REMINDER THAT LIKE YOU, WE ARE ALSO HU-MANS. MUCH LIKE HUMANS, WE ARE VARYING SHADES IN FLESHCOVER AND PARTAKE IN RITUALS SUCH AS READING OF NOO'EEORCK TIMES.

Spaceman Africa - 2014-10-04

"I'm modern! I say "black" instead of "colored," I think women are a good thing, I have no problem with gays- most of them are very well turned out, especially the men."

Binro the Heretic - 2014-10-04

I don't have a problem with Republicans' lack of diversity. What I have a problem with is their ideology.

When the Republican philosophy is boiled down to its simplest elements, this is what you get:

1 - I should benefit from a system but shouldn't have to contribute to it.

2 - I should have the freedom to rob others of their freedoms through political and/or or economic leverage.

Old_Zircon - 2014-10-04

What's wrong with almond milk? I've heard that this year there's an almond shortage because of overconsumption of almond milk and climate change working in tandem to, is that what they were talking about? OR is it inefficiencies in the manufacturing process? I assume it's probably a wasteful, energy-hungry thing to make on an industrial scale, but you can make it at home really easily, it's even simpler than making ricotta.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-10-04

A single almond takes almost a gallon of water to produce. And since more than 90% of the almonds in the US are grown in California, the impact on the environment is amplified.

A lot of our crops are water-hungry, but almonds and really most nuts are especially thirsty.

SolRo - 2014-10-04

doesn't seem that bad compared to the 120 gallons for one egg.

takewithfood - 2014-10-04

Checkmate, Liberals!

Kid Fenris - 2014-10-04

Well, if Deborah G. is against them, they might have a point. I never liked Deborah G.

Dib - 2014-10-06

When you need an ad campaign to inform people your left handedness trumps your dumbass ideals, perhaps it's time to concede your ideals are a little...dumbass?
