I thought I would start off with an Alex Jones laugh and ask everyone what they thought of what should actually be done about the surge of children being sent over, etc.

Chocolate Jesus - 2014-06-30

Before we get started I just want to remind everyone of your last insane immigration screed:

poetv.com/ video.php?vid=131565

For the record, I don't hate you because you want preferential education or protectionist economic policies in the US. Just for all the other dumb shit you said.

Here are some stars for nourishment.

Azmo23 - 2014-06-30

Same thing that should be done for every child.
Make sure they get a great education, are well fed and housed, have access to affordable healthcare, and the opportunity to be proud of the society that raised them.

Oscar Wildcat - 2014-06-30

Prolly the first order of business is understanding WTF is going on in Guatemala etc that is causing so many people to send their children away. It must be huge, yet we hear nothing about it in the US press.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-06-30

Chocolate Jesus, all the other "stupid shit" I said in that thread is true. You just have some issue with it and I'm not sure why. By all means tell me why we should not fear the increasing numbers of Muslims in America.

I'm not off the mark when I say they come to this country only to keep believing the same stupid shit they believed in their home countries, including an INTENSE hatred of atheists and gays.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-06-30

I once knew this university level ESL teacher here in the States and she had a class filled with immigrants. She wanted to show a movie in class but she told me she couldn't show them any movie with gay or lesbian characters because it would offend their culture.

My general response is fuck their culture. Fuck it until it's a dead, writhing fucking corpse.

Chocolate Jesus - 2014-06-30

I'll educate you when I have a bit more time, in a Taiwanese hospital using other peoples phones as hotspots. Should be out tomorrow! ;-)

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-06-30

Great, though I doubt I need to be educated on a subject I am pretty familiar with.

And for what it's worth I have no idea why you're in a hospital but I hope it's nothing serious.

prang - 2014-06-30

Gay atheist here, never had a problem with Muslims. They've all been pretty chill with me.

Catholics on the other hand... yeesh.

SolRo - 2014-07-01

I've been seeing the recent surge of children getting sent over as a humanitarian/refugee problem. They're getting sent over from some really shitty and violent areas.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-06-30

oh and in case you don't want to watch this, if you start at 12 minutes in he starts in about the plan to kill off 90% of the population and enslave everyone else to the elites.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-06-30

Good luck with that thanks to SCOTUS letting Jesus-corps deny birth control coverage to their employees.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-06-30

I find it odd that conspiracy nuts think you'd even need immigrants if you wanted to crash the economy, given the alleged power they ascribe to the Illuminati reptilloids running the world. Just make credit cards and computerized transactions stop working for a week. Most of the U.S. would have committed suicide by Wednesday.

Waugh - 2014-06-30

it gets really easy to add any stupid thing to nwo theory because it is already practically every stupid thing

CrimsonHyperSloth - 2014-06-30

Honest question:

Why are American's so damn afraid of immigrants? Your country was founded by them and built by them. What's the deal? I grew up, and still reside in, Canada. It's only immigrants, and it would appear our economy is just fine. I have a hard time understanding this terror of the others.

SolRo - 2014-06-30

not immigrants.

Mexicans.

Asians/Indians easily getting work visas by the thousands to take over high tech jobs in the US probably do a lot more economic damage, but they aren't mentioned by the right wing.

(by damage I mean deflating wages and exporting capital to country of origin)

Sanest Man Alive - 2014-06-30

But that's exactly why we fear immigrants so! Just think; 300 years ago a bunch of ferriners started creeping into this country, bringing their beer and their harpsichords and whatnot with 'em, and eventually they took over the whole damned thing, even set up their own gubmint! America hasn't forgotten how we did it in the first place, which is why we grind every new wave of immigrants into the dirt. We'll be damned if we're going to let THEM steal from us what WE stole already!

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-06-30

I'm actually for a total moratorium on immigration. I think the US doesn't have room and quite frankly I fear for the quality of life slipping down the toilet as is. More people means more competition for less jobs.

When you consider the fact that millions of Chinese immigrants are headed over, as well as Indians, and they are going to take tech jobs, it's concerning and I'm against it because the US is barely doing anything to make education available here. The plan seems to be, make education so expensive almost no one here can afford it, and then when they graduate try and hire someone from a country where education is cheap. Great. That's awesome.

I see what Obama is doing as far as giving amnesty to be a huge insult to the system. I honestly don't see why we can't have a guest worker ID system (but God forbid we ask anyone who comes into this country to have ID)

The Latin American issue is out of control in comparison to every other civilized country. No one else deals with this level of illegal immigration. The main problem is not that we have people from other countries living here, it's the fact that mixed in are tons of gangs. It's increasing, it's a huge problem, the number of drug runners has skyrocketed and quite frankly, the new epidemic of children being sent across the border is to me, revolting. I can't imagine a parent sending their 12 year old across the border alone knowing they could very well die.

Obama is right to ask them not to do this but if I were him I would place military outposts along the entire border. Put the Army out there. Increase the number of processing centers. Make sure some of the gang members and human traffickers get sent home in body bags. Oh and that is another huge problem, as immigration increases so does the number of sex slaves being snuck across the border.

And I cannot stress this enough, everyone coming into the country from abroad needs to be given some kind of medical screening to ensure they don't have TB or other major illnesses. We're seeing outbreaks of motherfucking cholera for fucks sake.

Azmo23 - 2014-06-30

dang dude whats it like being the only gay at the tea party rally

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-06-30

We're at the worst time economically in our nation's history. I don't think I agree with the Tea Party on economics and they are anti immigration for different reasons than me, I think.

It's a combination of "this is the worst possible time for jobs to get even more competitive" combined with a lack of government doing its job at all to ensure economic stabilization.

Immigration really, really won't help matters get better. I truly believe that.

Void 71 - 2014-06-30

Mexicans are singled out because of the sheer amount of them walking over the border illegally and the fact that they don't integrate as well into American society as other immigrant groups. You can't press 3 for Polish, Indian, Mandarin, etc. and you can't turn a form over to reveal a language other than Spanish. It's the kid-gloves treatment that Mexicans get in comparison to other common immigrants groups that puts them under the microscope.

Pillager - 2014-06-30

We go through cycles. During the early 20th century the Irish & Italians were roundly loathed. Hell, even earlier Ben Frankllin was horrified by the Germans showing up. tldr: we grumble but we get over it eventually.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-06-30

Yeah but there were 320 million people back then. How the hell can we possibly absorb 1 to 2 million people a year? We can barely deal with the numbers now. There's not enough growth for this, even if all the immigration was totally legal.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-06-30

that should say "weren't"

Azmo23 - 2014-06-30

i think we should do away with interstate open borders
im sick of all these liiiibbrall califor-ni-ans movin to god's greatest state georgia and makin us vote for damn gays gettin married! all these smarty pants ivy league northerners are takin honest engineering jobs from the rambling native sons of georgia technical institue!
wink sarcasm etc
im for open borders globally because fuck you

SolRo - 2014-06-30

Because you got yours and fuck everyone else that gets screwed by mass labor import?

Azmo23 - 2014-07-01

I think that self-determination is a fundamental right. The idea of government agencies with figurative and sometimes literal M16s blocking the road to their local labor marketplace is distasteful to me.

It creates an arbitrage opportunity for global corporations by locking labor into discrete non-global zones with radically differing values on similar work.
Additionally, it prevents workers from a shitty labor pool from emigrating to a different labor marketplace with safer working conditions and educational opportunities, which helps to ensure continued exploitation is unfettered.

So, I'm trying to express an idea closer to "I got mine and I want everyone else to get theirs too even if it means what's mine could be fractionally less than it would be otherwise and I may have to compete with more people to get it"

SolRo - 2014-07-01

yeah, that's a dumbasses view.

I'm not talking about uneducated immigrants moving permanently into a country. I'm talking about immigrants from countries that provide cheap/free high-tech education getting temporarily imported by the tech sector to reduce their labor costs and raise profits. You expect people that got their extremely overpriced education in this country to be able to compete with that?

And educated Asian and indian workers aren't suffering in their respective countries.

Plus there's a huge fucking difference between immigration happening on its own and when the government starts printing work visas non-stop because QUALCOMM and their ilk lobby the right people.

Azmo23 - 2014-07-01

I dont think the business subsidizing your overpriced education by paying you more than the global market value for your skillset makes sense.
Do you reply with such negative aggression to people that disagree with you in real life?
For your sake, I hope not. That would be a real dumbass's way of living.

SolRo - 2014-07-01

Whatever job you do, I guarantee you're being paid a lot more than the 'global market value'. Like I said, you're a dumbass that got his and everyone else can fight for your scraps.

You're a total idiot for even thinking that local wages should be set to global value when food, housing, transportation and everything else needed to live even a modest life never are.

Just such a complete fucking idiot.

Azmo23 - 2014-07-01

You seem like fun

SolRo - 2014-07-01

Should see me after a few drinks

cognitivedissonance - 2014-06-30

I think the easiest solution would be the states north of the Mason Dixon (extended laterally west to the California border and then down) should ally with Mexico openly, and build a large wall along the line and along the Mexico border, effectively sealing all of America's worst citizens in to slowly cannibalize each other within a generation.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-07-07

as someone stuck below that line, that's a terrible idea. There are plenty of us trying to influence change in our respective states. Just because our representatives and the majority (old people) are idiots, doesn't mean we all are.

mon666ster - 2014-07-01

Most of the world, and Latin America in particular, is poor because of US intervention, and then Americans turn around and scream blue murder if any of those people try to move to their country, where it might still be possible to earn more than subsistence level wages. Unlikely, but possible.

As to the "Muslim problem", I've lived in areas of Canada with high Muslim populations. Their beliefs suck, but their kids tend to adopt Canadian values. Their grand kids presumably more so. Were I American, I'd be far more terrified of the threat posed by fundamentalist Christians than by Muslims. Religion as a whole is a threat to human development, and singling one out is counter-productive.
