In theory, you should ask everybody for forgiveness, and then behave as if the forgiveness expressed is mutual, as an extension of Christ's propitiation for all sin. It should not then be considered as a badge to wear around, as if the forgiveness itself is the point. In practice, however, this guy is asking for a hand wave of rape specifically instead of sin generally, which is deeply Catholic rather than post-Reformation Protestant, which is weird.
