Holy shit. This is a dupe. Sorry.

HOW IS THIS A DUPE?

I love you guys.

fedex - 2014-06-05

its ok, stars because we all love this crazy movie too

Hooker - 2014-06-05

You seem more manic than usual over the past few days, baleen. Everything all right?

moldprince - 2014-06-05

I love this movie so much. One of the few insect creature features I've seen that's genuinely unnerving.

They found around 10 minutes of extra footage cut from the end of the movie a few years back.

GET ON IT CRITERION

BiggerJ - 2014-06-06

If they did a Kickstarter for it I'd be on it like a fish head and body on a pair of human legs.

Merzbau - 2014-06-06

Yeah, I would donate like a motherfucker for a restored blu-ray of this along with Bass's "Quest" and maybe "Why Man Creates" and "The Searching Eye".

Incidentally, if anyone likes this and hasn't yet seen The Hellstrom Chronicle, GET ON THAT SHIT PRONTO. It's a fake documentary presented by a fictional scientist with a 70's whitefro about how insects are horrible and will eventually outcompete man that nonetheless was factually accurate enough to win the Best Documentary Oscar, with even more stunning insect photography by the same guy that handled it for Phase IV. There's a good-looking but extra-free DVD from Olive Films.

I misread that as "get it on Criterion." I was so stoked.

memedumpster - 2014-06-06

The Hellstrom Chronicle ROCKED!

memedumpster - 2014-06-05

This movie was an example of an MST3K I'd watch without MST3K. The ending is creepy. It bothered me that the ants had built a square doorway. That was the oh fuck no moment.

fedex - 2014-06-06

yeah, the sentience thing was totally awesome and unnerving, Saul Bass was the man

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-06-05

This movie is bleak & unnerving and I love it.

Old_Zircon - 2014-06-06

I saw this movie on TV when I was maybe 7 and I've loved it ever since.

OxygenThief - 2014-06-06

I came home one night still very high and LSD and this movie was playing on television. The primary color insecticides they sprayed on the ants absolutely blew my mind.

Cinematography by Dick Bush!

Uh huh huh huh
