awesome! Thanks for sharing. Never heard this version before.

MusiquePlus in Quebec would play the Tammy Wynette version on television (since it had the video), but I swear this is the version of the song I would usually hear on radio, except cut down to radio length. I'm not sure if this version was made so they didn't have to split the over-the-air royalties with Tammy Wynette or what.

It's embarrassing to admit, but I got into the KLF in the good ol' days of 2005 or so.

I liked what I'd heard of them at the time, but I gotta admit I didn't know/appreciate how barking mad they were until much later.

Are KLF crazy? I always took their schtick as being part mystical prophets of the lost land of Mu Mu and part elaborate comedy act. I'm not gonna say I'm a huge follower of the band, I know this song and "3am Eternal" and that's about it really.

Belief in the lost continent of Mu is an actual thing, though. I thought it was some kind of ancient African oral tradition, but it's actually relatively recent. (Link to Wikipedia.)

Or, maybe not so much "belief", more like occult writings from James Churchward. I don't know how seriously people take the Mu folktale.

I'm almost positive this version was on the Maxi single, which is somewhere in my buried boxes of CDs.
