Japan wants to be able to put everything in vending machines. Their vending machine culture is awesome. You'll be waiting for a train and be able to get way more than whats available in vending machines in the states.

Killer Joe - 2014-03-02

LIKE BREAD FOR THE END OF DAYS.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-03-02

Like panties.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-03-02

Do they have a vending machine that dispenses other vending machines?

Cena_mark - 2014-03-02

In the 2 weeks I spent in Japan I've never seen a panty machine. As far as I've heard they're kinda illegal and can only be found in Tokyo's seedy underbelly.
Japan isn't all rainbows and tentacle rape. They're more sexually conservative than we make them out to be. Sure they make hentai and such, but they look down upon their pervs just as American society does.

EvilHomer - 2014-03-02

Yeah, panties were banned ages ago. And the sexual conservatism is what makes their porn so mindblowingly perverse - tentacle rape, for example, came about as a way for pornographers to skirt around laws aimed at censoring cocks.

When were you in Japan?

Cena_mark - 2014-03-02

I went in the spring of 2008. A friend of mine was doing a English teaching gig so I flew over there slept on the floor and took the train to places like Nagoya, Takeaway, Osaka, and Kyoto.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-03-02

I don't think the panties were illegal. It was the fact that they were trying to sell USED panties that made it illegal.

Lef - 2014-03-02

Pantie vending machines exist, but only for clean ones , at least that's what I've seen. They seem to be gimmick panties, and the machine I saw also vends cock-rings, condoms, and other toys too exotic for me to understand. The only one I saw was next to a block of love hotels.

I heard that the used panties can only be found in specialty stores.

Liquor vending machines with no age check mechanism.. those are real and seem to be as rare as the pantie/porn vending machines. You can get the nastiest shochu imaginable, probably why they don't need an age check, no kid would drink that.

EvilHomer - 2014-03-03

Yeah sorry, dirty panties are illegal, that's what I meant. Which defeats the purpose of panty vending machines; if the panties are clean, then what's the point?

But I did not know that they were still available in speciality stores! Can anyone confirm this?

Lef - 2014-03-03

won't search further than this 2011 video

http://youtu.be/jzXJkXxwKHY

they actually show a vending machine, but it's indoors.

I am feeling mighty dirty.

fluffy - 2015-03-02

Japan's tentacle porn is waaaaaaay older than the camera. It's pretty much intertwined into the old shinto mythology.

baleen - 2014-03-02

Since it's in plastic wrap, I can deal with it.
One of my favorite things is really high quality panettone. which has quite a long shelf life due to the rum and large amounts of butter. This looks very similar to panettone in texture and I imagine might be quite tasty.

cognitivedissonance - 2014-03-02

Have you tried Irish Veda Bread? It replaces the rum with whiskey and is not quite as rich as panettone, allowing for condiment usage.

TeenerTot - 2014-03-03

Panettone is nice if you've got the money. But plain old B&M bread in a can is delicious. Not like this foul-looking stuff.

baleen - 2014-03-03

I don't sit around eating panettone all day, lady!
Around Christmas it's nice to sink a little dough into the yearly panettone.

TeenerTot - 2014-03-03

Sheeoot. If I thought you could afford to eat panettone all day, I'd be on you like white on rice. Or like brown on B&M bread.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-03-06

Yeah, I would definitely eat this. Looks a lot like most other plastic wrapped breads in Japan.

Callamon - 2014-03-02

Looks pretty good to me.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-03-02

It looked tasty after it was cut open, but when it was first unwrapped it reminded me horribly of balut, for some reason.

If you don't know what balut is already, DO NOT LOOK IT UP.

Seriously

EvilHomer - 2014-03-02

OH FOR FUCKS SAKE

You knew that was just going to make me want to look it up more.

EvilHomer - 2014-03-02

(I've seen it before, but didn't know the name. Still not really something I want to be reminded of at dinner.)

Binro the Heretic - 2014-03-02

Sorry, but I thought if I was really vehement about not looking it up, people would REALLY want to look it up.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-03-06

ohh so that's what that's called. I always called it "dead baby chicken egg".

Cena_mark - 2014-03-02

Don't hate on something cause its from a can. Uncle Ted got all of his socks from a can.

Pope Caius - 2014-03-02

Remember the Candwich?

Riskbreaker - 2014-03-03

Hey, i know the guy in the preview image, he's a well known internet satanist (and yeah, mascot of some prefecture)

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-03-06

I like the cute (and overused) pun with "panda" and "pan."

duck&cover - 2022-12-27

Ummm, compressed.
