Pretty sure Lynda Carter has done voices in ES since Morrowind, so it would be weird if she wasn't around somewhere.

Why is this interesting?

At a time when MMOs are going free to play, ZeniMax is diving right into the rapidly evaporating lake that was once the lucrative monthly subscription model.

You can't say it isn't funny to watch someone repeat everyone else's mistakes in tangling with Blizzard.

I wanna hear Lynda Carter calling John Cleese a N*gger f*ggot camping cockshitter!!

Yeah this isn't going to turn out well for anyone, which is sad because if they would have just made this into a game with a multiplayer option, they would have satisfied a great many nerds and made out like bandits. I mean seriously, who "beats" a Bethesda game anyway? The only decent mmo coming out is Destiny, but I think even that will flounder due to exploitative players and the main FPS crowd isn't big Borderlands. The only way mmos are going to survive is by making human multiplayer an option, they should take a page from Dragon's Dogma's pawn system and implement something like that if they want to keep the team dynamic alive.

I played the beta weekend recently. It's first person wow. You pop an ability and buffs wait for cool down, repeat. Exploration seems zoned (although I started on an island) so I don't think you can explore freely at all. I didn't play very long because it was a total bummer to play.

That said, I MAY give it a shot for a month when if comes out to see if things are better is a less buggy environment, but I don't see this working, and neither does anyone else on Earth. If I were to guess, this got greenlit about 8 years ago, spent time in Development hell where it JUST past the point of no return in budget and now they are throwing it out there hoping the good public buzz on Skyrim will be enough to make this break even. Either that, or the folks are Bethesda are the most blind humans on the planet.

It worries me. I like the Bethesda open world games a lot. A bad MMO can break even mighty companies and I don't want this thing to fuck up the next real Elder Scrolls or Fallout game.

Man, Cleese, that ex-wife really did fuck you over man.

Sorry, but I only like my scripted events to be interrupted by random monster spawns and glitches, not griefer assholes.

oddeye - 2014-01-31

A while ago I made it into the beta for this game but I never actually bothered to download it. It's going to be really shit.

TheOtherCapnS - 2014-02-01

It was funny playing a few betas ago, and there were text to speech generated placeholder voices for every single character, except the celebrity voice cast.

Daggerfall still might be my favorite game, but probably for different reasons. I just liked how it said what was you just killed detail. "A giant rat was killed," "a rogue was killed," etc. I would be happy to hear John Cleese telling me that.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-02-04

I especially liked the amount of naked breasts in it as a kid.
