You must see this movie.

My favorite part is the guy getting a haircut.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-12-14

That's either the only part I saw or the only part I remember. Truly awesome.

I love the PoV shots of the Blob in this movie. It makes it look like a fruit roll-up is attacking people.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-12-14

So THAT'S what made bowling a less popular activity.

Scrimmjob - 2013-12-14

So what did Larry Hagman have to do with this movie? Did he direct, produce, or is it more of a 'based on an original idea by' kind of thing?

Larry Hagman directed it. He does also appear in the movie as a hobo.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-12-14

"Based on a true story where Hagman was allegedly found in a hotel room with several transients and an alarming amount of cherry Jello!"

good thing they closed that ice rink for repairs

RedRust - 2013-12-14

Because the blob would've died from the ice.

Old_Zircon - 2013-12-14

Why have I not seen this? I've been seeing trailers since I was a little kid but somehow I've never actually watched the movie. That has to change.

memedumpster - 2013-12-14

I actually saw this before I saw the original.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-12-14

The 1988 remake is one of my favorite 80s horror movies. Nothing ground breaking, but it hits all the right notes to be genuinely entertaining.

Some people in here probably don't know that Larry Hagman's mom was Mary Martin, one of the biggest musical stars of Broadway in the 1950s.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-12-15

It made the blob scary to (at the time) modern audiences. They couldn't achieve that whole "digested by acid" thing in the original, though I did like the scene where it came into the movie theater through the projector windows. And then there's the theme song.
