Oh God, he is just so bad at this. He's not up to Tucker Bounds levels of quality.

The RNC's Token Black Guy Talent Pool is not exactly an embarrassment of riches

Kabbage - 2013-12-06

Oh my lord

Hooker - 2013-12-06

It must be hard finding a suitable black person to represent the RNC.

"Why didn't the Jobs Act pass in the House?"

...

*awkward turtle*

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-12-06

Because Steve Jobs died, you insensitive lout!

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-12-06

I bet he hears, "naa man, you're one of the good ones!" a lot from his associates.

baleen - 2013-12-06

From what I've read Republicans actually hate this guy. They hate having to have an affirmative action black Republican to make them look more diverse...

On that note, I urge you all to follow Herman Cain's facebook page.

takewithfood - 2013-12-06

If you look closely enough you can actually see his brain hit the Emergency Sarah Palin Word Salad button.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-12-06

If you look at jobs statistics, it's hard to disagree with this guy. The black community has not benefited economically from the current administration being in power. Neither party really gives a fuck and I hate to burst your bubble but if the Dems really wanted to, they could have done a hell of a lot more than the have.

The fact is, both of them adhere to the corporate structure for support, and corporations in power don't give a fuck about poor black America. Obama being in power is not going to change that unless Obama decides to actually be honest for once and admit that he was always kind of a shill just like every other miserable traitor politician in office.

We need a complete separation of Corporation and State to ban all money going to politicians from any interest group.

"I hate to burst your bubble but if the Dems really wanted to, they could have done a hell of a lot more than the have."

Okay RoUS, as much as you hate to, burst away. What more could the Democrats have done? Be specific. For each point you come up with, you also need to explain exactly how it could have cleared the House (controlled by Republicans since 2011) and the Senate (where the Democratic "filibuster-proof majority" existed for no more than seven months in 2009 and 2010).

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-12-07

Oh boo hoo, if only they had more power! Then they could actually do something other than sit around on their pathetic seats taking it up the ass from the GOP like willing twinks at a leather bar. Oh boo hoo.

I dunno, how about ending ALL oil subsidies, sugar subsidies, corn and soy subsidies, investing in the American farmer, and setting up a five year period of time so Americans could invest in their own country to prepare for a moratorium on most products from China?

Also a complete ban on outsourcing.

The truth is, no one in government cares that much because they were too busy selling all of us out. Stop pretending they give a shit and overthrow them all and end the two party system, and then imprison EVERY SINGLE congressperson who voted yes to NDAA and maybe you'll get the ball rolling.

Bort - 2013-12-07

Good God, that was a shitty hand-wavey response. Provide details on how they could actually do the things you want or your opinions are worthless.

Cockmaster Flash - 2013-12-07

You forgot FREE MUMIA

kingjackhammer - 2013-12-07

the "Separation of Corporation and State" you speak of is a fantasy in a capitalist society, and will only come when a proletarian uprising abolishes the capitalist class and establishes a socialist state. It will never come from someone elected by a capitalist democracy.

Cherry Pop Culture - 2013-12-07

Jobs ain't coming back. Our society has changed too much and focuses on services now. It has been a long time coming. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see a revolution happen sometime. But too many people do not want to give up their Big Macs and movie theater matinees and I can't blame them. I would have to give up a lot of things for a huge amount of change to happen. Everyone would have to as well. Are you really brave enough to give up everything you love for something different?

baleen - 2013-12-07

Obama should have listened to Romer.

Unfortunately, Summers and Emmanuel were on politics mode, and apparently hid the largest stim package from Obama's eyes, fearing it was "too lefty" for him to consider. The result was a shorted stimulus that Obama attempted to ameliorate with the American Jobs Act. That 0B AJA shortfall was included in the most generous of stimulus proposals from Christina Romer, who sought a .2 trillion stimulus. There would be more people working if that neo-Keynesian ploy had been a success.

How could fixing all of our schools and D-grade infrastructure not contribute significantly to money velocity on a national level? Not to mention the rapid expansion of interurban transportation networks. It's one of the saddest things about the Obama spectacle, that he just didn't hit hard enough and show his own strength in the war room.

Realistic things Democrats could have done to save the Obama presidency, if they were on the side of working people, off the top of my head.

1. Never put sequestration on the table.
2. Passed a less stupid health care bill, or bypassed the broken contracting system to deliver working health care exchanges.
3. Dropped "the nuclear option" in 2009 to start rebuilding the bureaucracy.
4. Appointed competent regulators to rebuild the regulatory arm of the bureaucracy.
5. Aggressively pursued criminal prosecutions of banking and environmental crimes.
6. Speedily implemented the flawed Dodd-Frank act, including using the nuclear option to staff the new bureaucratic positions it created, instead of letting it die by inches.
7. Never started prosecuting whistle-blowers. Maybe even encouraged them.

That's just five minutes worth of ideas.

Bort - 2013-12-07

About things Obama could / should have done: bear in mind that, as of January 2011, Democrats no longer had the House. So what we were left with from that point on are only those policies that could get past the Republicans, whose goal was to break government. So when it comes to sequestration and the like, I say you can't reasonably put those on Obama's head, beyond him trying to make do with a Republican House that was hostile to him and to this country.

"Passed a less stupid health care bill" -- please specify what that less stupid bill would consist of, and also explain where the votes would have come from to pass it. What passed was probably the most politically viable bill that could be drafted, and even then it passed with a paper-thin margin in the House and no margin in the Senate.

"or bypassed the broken contracting system to deliver working health care exchanges" -- that's way easier to call in hindsight than beforehand. I'm not seeing any articles (except on on foxnews.com) that says CGI Federal was a company with a history of shitty work.

"Dropped 'the nuclear option' in 2009 to start rebuilding the bureaucracy" -- that's on Reid, not Obama. Even then, there wasn't any reason to expect the Republicans to abuse the filibuster like they did in 2009-2010, so I can't fault him for not taking away the filibuster in January 2009. Reid's got no excuse for not fixing that in 2011 or 2013, but by then the Republican House was the real issue.

As for prosecuting banks and investment firms and so forth, agreed, I would have liked to have seen more heads on the chopping block. That said, proving actual malfeasance is harder than knowing it's there somewhere; incredibly bad decisions aren't in and of themselves illegal.

It's kind of hard to sail the ship of state when you're wearing a dead albatross around your neck, and the dead albatross' friends are actively drilling holes in the boat.
