Agreed.

Fuck, I love these.

Huh. I never knew that this was Brian Eno. I feel like I've heard it in a zillion movies. I really like the direction this series is going, but I kind of like the first one the most so far.

The whole album its from is really good. It's a collaboration between Eno, his brother Roger, and Daniel Lanois called Apollo, and was intended as a "soundtrack" to footage of the Apollo moon landings.

Cool! I'm mostly just familiar with Warm Jets and Tiger Mountain and his collaborations with David Byrne. I'll check it out.

Wait wait wait! And Robert Fripp, of course! Please don't banish me!

It is, in fact, a soundtrack to a movie about the apollo landings. I'm sure you can find a copy of it with a little searching. But for my money, while all of Brian Eno's work is worth a listen, you must find copies of the Ambient series, most of all #4 On Land. I bought a copy in the early 80's, and I don't think a week has gone by that it hasn't had an airing here in Haus Wildcat.

The first time you hear it, you will think "Oscar was just yanking my chain, this isn't anything". Turn up the volume. Go about your daily tasks. Put the thing on autorepeat. Eventually, the music will start to seep through. Now I ask you. How many albums can you listen to for 30+ years and still enjoy, that still sound fresh? This is such an album, I submit. There are no songs on the albums, just times and places.

I could watch these all day.

Those were the days, in the trenches, shells whizzing overhead, never knowing if the next moment would be your last.

Yes, those were the days, pounding the pestle of my mates like a trooper.
