What. Why.
Given that this was a Disney film, I had always just assumed that Kaa was a metaphor for those sneaky International Jews.

memedumpster - 2013-10-21

Goddammit, what fresh hell is this?

sasazuka - 2013-10-21

Eh, I agree with that part. If the rest of his body is stiff and he's feeling really good, it stands to reason he's got a boner too.

EvilHomer - 2013-10-21

But stiffness of the penile region isn't a function of muscular tension, as it is in the rest of the body. Penile stiffness is a function of blood flow. The fact that Mowgli's limbs have tensed and stiffened in no way suggests the same has occurred to his cock.

What's more, Mowgli is being constricted. Constriction, by it's very nature, severely impedes the circulatory system. Being squeezed, one would expect Mowgli to have a HARDER time achieving an erection. I suppose one could imagine a situation in which Kaa's constricting coils force blood INTO Mowgli's penis and, once there, prevent that blood from draining out again, but that would require that Kaa possess a goreat deal of both coil control and anatomical knowledge. The first is unlikely - to the best of my knowledge, snakes do not possess the fine motor skills to selectively isolate their prey's veins and arteries while engaging in coiling/constricting behavior (I am open to correction on this point). The second is virtually impossible - we know from the premise that Kaa has never encounter a "man cub" before, so how could he be expected to have intimate knowledge of Mowgli's circulatory system?

I guess one might argue that, since Kaa is (presumably) familiar with monkey and ape anatomy, he could extrapolate Mowgli's circulatory behavior based on this knowledge alone, but I'm having a hard time buying it.

sasazuka - 2013-10-21

All that information is probably completely accurate, all I know is that 4 or 5 year old me saw Mowgli looking stiff and blissful because of Kaa's hypnosis, may have subconsciously associated the stiffness with erections, and, boom, hypnosis fetish, years before I should have had any kind of fetish.

memedumpster - 2013-10-21

I'm glad I was allowed to watch movies and shows with human nudity in them as a child (gods bless you, Oldschool Dirty Candid Camera), followed by being given a bunch of Hustler magazines right as I hit my teens. I didn't get out unscathed, however, I have a fetish for bellybuttons. Bellybuttons, it was recently discovered, contains 2800+ species of microcritter not found anywhere else on earth.

At least wanting to lick a cartoon isn't genocide.

Mister Yuck - 2013-10-22

Come on EvilHomer, you're getting your boner physics all wrong. Boners don't rely on blood flow, they restrict it. The tissues on the inside of the penis relax, expanding the corpus cavernosa and blood is pulled in from the body to fill the void. As the penis grows erect, the veins on the outside of the shaft close and blood is prevented from leaving. This is why having an extra-long erection is a painful and potentially dick-threatening situation. Kaa's constriction wouldn't affect this process negatively in any way, and if David Carradine died for any reason at all, it would probably help it along.

Anyway, sasakuza, I hope this helped validate your hilarious fetish.

EvilHomer - 2013-10-22

Yes, but please note: in order for a boner to be achieved, one must first engorge one's penis with an influx of blood. The maintenance (and eventual reproductive functionality) of a hard-on may require constriction, but the initial acquisition of a hard-on depends upon having an unimpeded flow of blood. Until this engorged, hyper-sanguinated-state has happened, simply constricting penile tissue has little or no effect (controlled for external stimuli, of course). This is where I have a "hard" time believing the Mowgli boner hypothesis. One can try a simple experiment to illustrate this problem. Grab one's own flacid member and mash it as hard as one can, without thinking any sexy thoughts. Nothing happens; it simply gets squished.

I suppose that it's possible Mowgli got a stiffy BEFORE the constriction began. Maybe Kaa's Winnie-the-Pooh rape-whisper turned him on? I don't know enough about the character to say, but in that case, yes, I suppose the boner hypothesis could "stand up" to scrutiny. However, in the absence of any real documentary evidence to the contrary, I maintain that snake constriction is, in itself, not enough to cause an erection. Furthermore, I maintain that the specific evidence for the Shota-Boner Theory presented in this video - to wit, the stiffing of Mowgli's limbs - has been misinterpreted, and in no way constitutes proof that Mowgli is getting off from this.

(I believe we can all agree on the second point, at least)

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-10-22

The kid is 10 years old, guys. 10!

Redford - 2013-10-23

HAHA. BONERS.

Xenagama Warrior Princess - 2013-10-21

Why is there a 9 minute video on this? Why must we know there is a metaphorical boner going on in a 10 year old's loincloth?

Why internet, why?

EvilHomer - 2013-10-21

I'm surprised it isn't longer.

Kaa fetishists are one of the largest, and most baffling, fetish groups on the internet. They turn up everywhere, at any time, in the most unexpected ways. If you can think of a fandom, I guarantee you that someone, somewhere, is wanking to characters from that fandom being hypnotized by Kaa.

Sanest Man Alive - 2013-10-21

Kaa is basically the patron deity of hypnofetishists, largely because [CONTINUOUS FARTING NOISES]

sasazuka - 2013-10-21

I'll fully admit it was the Kaa scenes that turned me on to hypnosis in the first place as a kid. I think the reason Kaa is so endearing and enduringly popular with hypno-fetishists is that THE JUNGLE BOOK is a movie most people in the western world saw at some point as a child, the hypnosis scenes in particular are extremely well-animated and memorable (what I remembered by far the best from the movie as a kid, even more than "Bare Necessities"), and the movie makes hypnosis seem like it is a pleasurable (albeit slightly dangerous) experience.

Boomer The Dog - 2013-10-22

I don't remember seeing this movie at a younger age, I probably wasn't in the Disney 7 year release cycle for it, but mom read the book to me, and I remember Kaa, but my thing was wanting to be part of the Seeonee wolf pack.

I was really into this for a while and made my own little reference book of the characters with tabs on it.

I don't think I caught any fetishes from this, but just wait a few years until The Shaggy DA came out, with its transformations.. ;)

I think it's cool that there's a Kaa fandom out there, I think I can really understand it, the idea of seeing one little thing at the right time, that in some cases becomes part of a lifelong experience.

Boomer

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-10-22

So Boomer, do people catch fetishes like they catch colds? Do they just have to have the right balance of exposure and vulnerabilities for them to take hold?

EvilHomer - 2013-10-22

>>the idea of seeing one little thing at the right time, that in some cases becomes part of a lifelong experience.

Yeah, I guess you've got a point there. I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around the sheer numbers of Kaa-fetishists out there. Like, one pr two people, OK, everything under the sun is sexy to SOMEBODY. But there are THOUSANDS, even tens of thousands, of Kaa-fetishists out there. That's a lot more than we would expect to develop Kaa-fetishes purely by chance. There's got to be something deeply, primally sexual about the scene for it to trigger such a strong fetish reaction in so many people.

It's not hard to see the sexual subtext in certain cartoon sequences; the femdom in Sleeping Beauty, Penny's bondage/DiD scenes in Inspector Gadget, pretty much everything Jessica Rabbit ever did, or the explosion of subtle SFW fetish references in Season 3 of MLP. Even when it's not my bag - like Gadget Hackwrench - I can usually "see" why someone, somewhere, would associate it with fucking. But Kaa is a more elusive pleasure, and quite frankly, it's driving me nuts trying to figure it out.

I mean, watching the scene again, I guess I can see it being a sort of fetish trifecta, between hypnotism, vore, and shotacon. His voice is also strangely soothing, yet at the same time it makes him sound like a total creeper. Maybe the scene was so popular because it combined something that felt "safe" and "inviting" (Winnie-the-Pooh) with a touch of malevolence and peril, setting off our "Stranger Danger" triggers. I can't speak for everyone, but I know that, as a child of the Nancy Reagan years, both my teachers and my television made SURE kid-me was absolutely terrified about being raped. Thanks to a never ending stream of bad touch education and paranoid PSAs about secrets our uncle didn't want us to share, being kidnapped and raped seemed like a natural part of my lifecycle; it was bound to happen, every time I walked out the door. And Kaa here, he strikes me as an archetypical pedo-rapist. So maybe that's what it is? For some people, at least? The loss of control to a dangerous-yet-tempting, predatory creeper?

sasazuka - 2013-10-23

If you're pushing 40 like me, your first exposure to hypnosis in entertainment was probably either Kaa or that clown that hypnotized Daphne on SCOOBY-DOO, and that clown didn't have a sweet seductive song. Plus I freaking hate clowns.

I'm not personally a Kaa fetishist, but I appreciate Kaa as having planted the seed of interest in hypnosis in my mind.

Boomer The Dog - 2013-10-23

Well, I don't think they have fetishes like colds, maybe they're more like a chronic condition, set off by some exposure. I believe that a fetish comes from something interesting that happens, maybe a turning point when someone is really young, pre-social-graces.

I think it has made some impression, and then is revisited in puberty when thoughts of pleasure come up, or maybe it's a naughty feeling because the earlier subject was a taboo thing. Tie that in with a first sexual experience and it could be life-changing.

I didn't even know about a Kaa fetish, but it doesn't surprise me with anything from Disney. Walt would have grown up at a time when fairy tales were everything to kids, scary and deeper stuff like Big Bad Wolf and Red Riding Hood.

Sasazuka or someone else would have to say, but it could be the hypnosis that he's tuned into, more than the movie scenes, and being spellbound, under the influence of a witch, or otherwise not being completely in control is a common theme in lots of stories.

Kaa is acting like a seducer to Mowgli and is much larger than the man-cub, and I see it differently now than when I watched it long ago, I saw his attraction to Mowgli like he wants to eat him eventually, and he's just playing with him, but now it feels like that's Kaa's personality, and that's how he'd act with any smaller animal. Still, it would be interesting to find out what pedo Kaa fans think about this same scene and if they look at it in the same way.

I'll have to pull out the Jungle Book that mom read to me, if it survived my half sister's wrath against my stuff.. ;) When I get a chance I'll look for it.

The area I know most from Disney is their transformations, those must have hundreds, if not thousands of fetishists and fans. There are the Shaggy Dog movies where someone turns into a Dog, but even more, Disney's Pinocchio, with Lampwick's change into a donkey, which is played intensely on the screen.

Even with the change into an Dog or other animal, some like that for giving in to animal urges and it's expected, or scary because of what you might do in that state, attack someone like a werewolf. It makes for a great situation in a movie, when is it going to happen next? My body is out of control (and growing hair, like in puberty)!

I saw The Shaggy DA at 11 with my dad in the theater, and it did rock my world. I saw it as a unique experience, and reflected back on it later that I must have been the only one to get such feelings from from a movie that to everyone else is supposed to be a comedy.

I knew about stranger danger, and our area had the 'Block Parent', which was a neighbor's safe house that you could go to if you thought you were unsafe. My parents were older than most, and didn't seem to buy in to the hysteria of the week, so I ran all over the neighborhood by 7 or so, and they were probably happy just to get me out of the house, burning off energy.

That's another thing, I wonder if Scooby Doo itself isn't some kind of a fetish, being that it's so constantly out there, there's always something new from Scooby.. :)

EvilHomer - 2013-10-23

>>I believe that a fetish comes from something interesting that happens, maybe a turning point when someone is really young, pre-social-graces.

I'm pretty sure you're right about that. Renee Descartes (the "I think therefore I am" guy) had a fetish for cross-eyed girls, and wrote at some length on the development of this fetish - it stemmed from a childhood friend of his, a cross-eyed hottie. For much of his life, Descartes was chasing that same "fix" that'd been implanted in his mind as a child, much like you and your doggie TFs.

Boomer The Dog - 2013-10-23

Cool about Renee, his favorite song is probably by Jethro Tull.. :) That might be kind of hard, then you start looking for your version of perfection and wanting to be with someone because of that part. That seems harder than transformation or hypnotism, which are more abstract concepts than something that involves any part of a real person.

People have asked if I had a fetish, but I'd have to think that Dog ideas are more essential to my life over just pleasure.

There is one animal transformist, the goddess Circe, who does have a hypnotic effect on her subjects. There's no eye dilation or any real moves she makes to hypnotize, but when she's turning someone into a Dog or other animal, she surely has a spell on them.

They know something is happening, but they're taken by Circe's beauty at first, and they follow her, and don't really want to be Dogs, but somehow her spell makes them realize that they want it and that everything will be okay.

Circe stories have a simple and dreamy quality around them, and I can think of several Doggie transformation stories that have hypnotic elements to them, like one with a hot oil massage that relaxes the person and they start to change.

Hey Homer, someone just called and said that there Boomer coverage in the Daily Mail, and I haven't even seen it yet, but I know that you follow the pup here.

EvilHomer - 2013-10-25

Hey Boomer, I dunno if you're going to see this, but I uploaded an acrylic I did of you:

http://punchysonichu.deviantart.com/art/Here-s-Boomer-40945063 4

It's an older piece and it's a bit rough, so I'm thinking of redoing it, but hopefully you'll like it!

Boomer The Dog - 2013-10-25

Wow Homer, what a nice and personal thing you did there! I have to thank you so much with a tail wag for that. That's it, with my pushed in muzzle, pointed Briardy kind of ears, giant tag and paws up.

I could see how it might take some time to do all of those paper strips, and how they curl and spring around.

I have a starter acrylic paint set and some textured paper for painting, but I haven't used it yet. I've only painted a few times, but I used to draw anthro Dogs a whole lot, until I got a PC and started photo-morphing them to create anthros with more realism.

The thing about my suit is, it's become the iconic look for me, something I didn't think of when I made it in 2007 to go to a Furry convention with a costume. I knew something was up later when it was exciting people who saw it.

I've always wanted to have a fiber costume, rather than one made from wood pulp, something more durable. Now the challenge is to re-create Papey in fur, trying to match the paper look as much as possible.

I do try to remember all of the articles I've posted to and at least look back on them until they drop off the one week list here. I've even missed some, but saw them months later while checking the related videos, because it was another Dog topic!

Thanks again for showing me your Boomer picture, I remember you mentioning doing one, and I was hoping that you'd show me. Do you think it's okay if I would link to it from my site, as Boomer art from others? I can also wait if you plan on doing another one. I'm working on my site right now.

Boomer

EvilHomer - 2013-10-25

Glad you like it, Boomer! I wasn't overly pleased with the way it came out, but as long as you enjoy it, it's a success, right? If you'd like to link it, or even download it and post it on your site, go right ahead!

The one I mentioned before was a pencil piece that I did a couple years ago; I don't have that one anymore, sadly. Lost to the sands of time. I'll drop you a line if I do another.

Boomer The Dog - 2013-10-25

I like it, and I've never had a picture painted before, that's pretty wild, it's unique, because who paints someone's picture these days?

I think the depth of the picture is good, using light and dark grey, because that's the way the costume looks, sharp thin shadows from the fur strands, then the bigger shadows and features done broader and smoother underneath with the light grey.

I tend to like to grab things and put them on my site, with your chosen name for credit and link to the original page, that would be my standard. It would avoid seeing Deviant ads and prevent the picture from getting lost somehow.

I'm actively working on the site right now, giving special attention to it with the media focus, people are coming to my site and I want to put things up there to look at.

I'll bark if I do something and where to find it.

Kaa and Mowgli are up there looking pretty lonely right now.. :) (we're off on this other topic).

Boomer

sasazuka - 2013-10-25

Just would like to say that I'm not a furry but I'm fine with furries and admire the effort, artistry, and craft they put into their costumes (the good costumes, I mean).
