Was Wayne's World genuinely funny? I mean, does it still hold up for anyone? Mike Meyers and Dana Carvey have both committed major crimes against humor since, and I can't tell if that just makes me loathe most of what they do on principle or if people just mistook their "comedy" for something good at the time.

StanleyPain - 2013-08-26 As 90s comedies go, especially SNL character movies, it's not bad, but it's very dated. I think most would argue the sequel was better because of it's absurdism, but it's hard to keep perspective on these movies because of how uniformly awful everything Carvey and Myers has been since. (yeah whatever Austin Powers was a lazy satire)

gravelstudios - 2013-08-26 I have some nostalgia associated with the film because I went to see it with my dad and older brother and it's a good memory, so I'm biased in that regard. But I think Wayne's World is a decent movie that still, for me at least, holds up. My vote for Wayne's World 2 is that it sucks as a movie, but is still an interesting 90's artifact from an anthropology standpoint.

Quad9Damage - 2013-08-26 I can definitely see a lot of the jokes being dated in the sense that there are many gags you'd have to be a certain age to understand. What average 2013 teen or 20-something is going to understand spoofs of "Thelma & Louise," "Laverne & Shirley," "The Graduate," Woodstock, Grey Poupon or the Keep America Beautiful commercial? The movies (both of them) have held up for me out of nostalgia but they're also really funny.

To their credit, they did get Mike Myers and Dana Carvey to disinterestedly yell into a microphone.
