The New Meat - 2013-07-23
I don't even need to watch it. 5 just for Foofur in the preview.

Kids love Oliver North references.
All the candy bar ads are really adult-themed.

Old_Zircon - 2013-07-23
Starring, in ALFabetical order.
chumbucket - 2013-07-23
Cast of TV scrapings.
THA SUGAH RAIN - 2013-07-23
How did that anti-semitic cat-eating border-jumping freak get this far in TV?
Hugo Gorilla - 2013-07-23
I forgot the networks would do these Saturday morning promo specials. I think ABC had one and the host was Mary Lou Retton.

joelkazoo - 2013-07-23
I've always wondered: whatever happened to Benji Gregory?
Old_Zircon - 2013-07-23 good question. Willy's crack habit spiraled out of control and that other guy wrote Permanent Midnight, but that's all I know about the Alf cast.
joelkazoo - 2013-07-23 I've always wanted Benji to have had a good agent who wisely invested his money and now he's a stay at home Dad who writes teleplays as a hobby.
Rodents of Unusual Size - 2013-07-25 Apparently he joined the Navy and become some sort of alpha stud, according to a Google search.
Caminante Nocturno - 2013-07-23
They sure did love the motherfucking 50's in advertising back then.

EvilHomer - 2013-07-23
"You need a well-worn fedora..."
OH FOR FUCKS SAKE.
EvilHomer - 2013-07-23 Also, Betty White makes a blatant Illuminati reference at 15:48.
FABIO - 2013-07-24 Did nobody notice the giant penis at 9:50?

Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2013-07-23
"ALF! You're amazing! How do you get decent-quality video on a 1980s monochrome computer screen, anyway?"
"The powers of Paul Fusco's ego, Benji! When you've got a big ego like his, anything is possible!"
gravelstudios - 2013-07-23
The thing that I find depressing is that the puppeteer who did ALF apparently didn't do much else. There's virtually nothing on his wikipedia page that's not ALF related. Also, there's going to be a cgi ALF movie, so there's that.

Old_Zircon - 2013-07-23
I forgot about the horrible Fraggle Rock cartoon. That's probably what killed Henson.
FABIO - 2013-07-24 That or Muppet Babies.
Old_Zircon - 2013-07-24 Muppet babies was awful but not awful enough to completely block out of my memory. Just awful enough to wish I could.
Nominal - 2013-07-23
Ooooh fuck I remember this! Previews like this were sort of the Nintendo Power for television. They were the only previews in town even if they were just press releases straight from the company, and it made you feel like part of some community.
Actually the only things I remembered about it was Alf, some sort of mansion mystery, and the mama gummy bear describing smurfs as three apples high.
Jet Bin Fever - 2013-07-23
The commercials were my favorite part.
