Hooker - 2013-06-19 Is it even lazy? My experience with CGI is using 3D Studio MAX in the late 90s, but it seems like the difference between affected stop-motion and just regular motion is pretty trivial. It's not like you're drawing fewer frames or anything.

magnificent wang - 2013-06-19 It is cheaper than a traditional pixar type animated movie. There is a relatively small animation team doing it, and they are only animating between 4 to 12 fps, not 24fps. Though, it's not exactly lazier, just different stylistically.

Once the Lego video games got insanely popular (mainly due to the cute, stupid little cutscenes) I knew something like this shit was inevtiable and only a matter of time.
What's wonderfully, depressingly awesome/awful about this is that rather than a genunely funny and/or charming children's adventure movie with imagination and creativity (you know, the things that Lego toys are kind of ABOUT), it's just a generic Hollywood summer movie script re-purposed nonsensically to be a "Lego Movie" whatever that means. I mean...you could fucking write a term paper on how awful, yet endemic, this is.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2013-06-19 It's written and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The guys who made Clone High, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, and 21 Jump Street. This may be a gross feature-length toy commercials but it'll probably have some pretty good jokes.

I wonder if Disney-owned properties that got their own LEGO sets will have cameos? I'm thinking specifically of STAR WARS, though this movie was already in production long before Disney bought Lucasfilm, but, to a lesser degree, Marvel superheroes, just so we can see Marvel and DC superheroes together in the same film, albeit in yellow-headed plastic form.
