Strangely enough, being a dude and loving Bruce Lee doesn't make you gay in the slightest.

This was a really cool story. I would've loved to have been a fly on a wall when they were filming a lot of those movies.

One of my favourite action stars talking about another one of my favourite action stars = stars.

you should try again

Everyone knows that Jackie Chan would kick the shit out of Bruce Lee in a fight.

But Jackie's such a gentleman and a sweetheart, he might job for Bruce, if he felt that's what the kids wanted to see.

Not to get into an elementary school tanbark pit debate, but Bruce would have absolutely mauled Jackie. The guy was 30+ years ahead of the MMA craze. Not that Chan is not a bad ass.

I'm not a bouncer.

I'm sorry, sosage, but you're wrong. I've done some extensive debunking of the myths surrounding Bruce Lee (page after page after page of that stuff), and the popular notion that Bruce Lee was some kind of MMA super asskicker has no basis whatsoever in empirical fact. While it's arguably true that Jeet Kun Do anticipated MMA, with Bruce's try-every-sport approach to physical conditioning and the no-style philosophy he advocated as the best solution for bouncers looking to get into some serious bouncing, there's no evidence to suggest that he was any good in a real fight. In fact, over the course of his entire career, there are only two solid, verifiable incidents in which Bruce actually fought someone for realsies: an amateur highschool boxing tournament, and a non-televised match against some real sketchy-sounding Chinese "Chi master" which he either won or fought to a draw, depending on whose story you choose to believe. Hardly the resume of a bonafide bouncer! Now, I hesitate to call full Bullshido on Master Lee, because he was a great performer, and he had some crazy good intensity on camera; it's easy to see why people loved his films. But he's Johnny Cage, not Lui Kang.

I'll leave it at that for now, but if anyone wants to do the gradeschool tango, I'll find some videos and we can have us a Jackie vs Bruce Week.
