See, this is why I don't use FaceUnion, because then television forensic personnel can access my friends. And I don't want television forensic personnel to access my friends.

Except for Abby Sciuto. She may access anything she likes.

Luscious Grape would have been a great username.

gravelstudios - 2013-04-17

This is exactly what my mom thinks the internet is really like.

Menudo con queso - 2013-04-17

I'm boycotting the internet until every new page opens with a "bleedeep" sound.

MyNameIsUnimportant - 2013-04-17

The family dog has a pierced navel?

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-04-17

This might be (assuming the following is true) part of the "conspiracy" a lot of TV writers have who DO know how stupid this stuff is, but have a kind of contest within their craft to see who can troll the audience the hardest when it comes to technology and related subjects:

EvilHomer - 2013-04-17

I'm thinking the same thing. For example, the part about "catching a train" sounds like it's a reference to alt.suicide.holiday, the notorious pro-suicide Usenet group. A writer who's familiar enough with the internet to drop an ASH reference is a writer who's familiar enough with the internet to realize how stupid this shit sounds.

Maru - 2013-04-17

these people despise their audience completely

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-04-17

Pause the video at around 32 seconds in and look at what's on that computer screen.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-04-17

Follow-up comments weren't about disliking their audience. It was more because their directors/producers were idiots who still thought computers were full of magic and fairy dust, and (in theory) they'd be the ones to catch the blame for letting it through, seeing how they change everything else to fit their whims.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-04-17

Also, they can't just do what a lot of people do when they want to make a URL about something where all the names are taken and just stick "fuckyeah" on the front of the domain name. Which is a pity, since it could make it more amusing.

Old_Zircon - 2013-04-17

That thread is probably the only goo thing that's ever come out of Reddit.

Hooker - 2013-04-17

Speaking of fake websites, has anyone noticed the "Store" link that's appeared at the top of the main page? It's throwing off my suspicion that this site is completely derelict.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-04-17

The autopilot has an Amazon affiliation. No maintenance required.

Hooker - 2013-04-17

Yeah, but it started out as a strange link, and then sometime much later, it became bolded and the same font (albeit not the same colour). Almost as if someone who doesn't know HTML is screwing around with poeTV. Now, who do we know that can't design a website and has the ability to screw around with poeTV, hmm?

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-04-17

If I were guessing, the joke ads (for Wolf Urine and so forth) were the "default" ads. Until the site reached a certain traffic level or Amazon gleaned enough info from your/our browsers (dunno if the ads are personalized or not) to be worth targeting, they'd remain as joke ads.

Old_Zircon - 2013-04-17

I've been using the Ghostery plugin for Opera for a while now, and the only thing on here it lists is Google Analytics, which is less than most sites I visit have.

Old_Zircon - 2013-04-17

Oh wait, an Amazon tracing script showed up just seconds after I posted, haha.

Old_Zircon - 2013-04-17

And now it's gone again.

jreid - 2013-04-17

Hey, what's up? I'm Brad. 15, male, NYC. Definitely not a law enforcement officer.

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2013-04-17

Reminds me how much I hate it when TV shows misuse "viral."

Old_Zircon - 2013-04-17

Reminds me how much I love it when TV shows misuse "viral."

Prickly Pete - 2013-04-17

At 0:11 add "It's O-S-C-A-R" and see if you laugh. It's a test to see if I'm retarded.

Fatso! They're a special favorite.

That guy - 2013-04-17

They forgot FriendSpice.

cognitivedissonance - 2013-04-17

I'm now going to call Grindr "Pervpointer". Forever.

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-04-17

This show is always at its best when it's about the Internet or video games.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-04-17

What? No mention of the times when the characters have to wear fetish gear to nab a perp?

By the by, I long ago got sick of the whole cop procedural not just because they were stupid, but because time and time again, the cops basically violated suspects' rights without consequence. I'm sure that makes for great drama, but it also seems likely to make people not think real-life violations are anything to worry about or 'just a technicality."

Apologies for the serious rant. Carry on.

Old_Zircon - 2013-04-17

Noam Chomsky must have ulcers the size of coconuts by now.

Old_Zircon - 2013-04-17

Considering the ways Facebook commodifies its user base, a union's not a bad idea.

memedumpster - 2013-04-17

Portal of Weasels!?

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-04-18

The E in PoE stands for ermine.

fluffy - 2015-05-30

That's... not what blogging is. Or at least that's not the major part of it.
