Hooker - 2013-04-03

Alright. Calling Gmork. Gmork, would you please come to the floor to shoot first and ask questions later? Anyone that even kind of looks like they're in favour of gun control, please gun them down.

Gmork - 2013-04-03

You guys really need to find something else to do.

Gmork - 2013-04-03

With cena and roachbud, it is warranted - but i'm basically a replica of half of you that doesn't share your views on gun control. Is that so infuriating?

Hooker - 2013-04-03

What is my view on gun control again?

Bort - 2013-04-03

At the end, he says the Second Amendment is a "doomsday provision" for when all other rights have failed. Uh, no. The Second Amendment is about militias, and the Constitution describes militias as under control of the Congress, not some independent citizens' patrol. Article 1 Section 8 lists Congress's powers, and among them:

"To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

"To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;"

So yeah, militias are still tools of The Man, and charged with suppressing insurrections. And with a little research, one can find evidence that the insurrections they were most worried about were slave revolts.

Declining to comment on the rest because it's all been said before here lots of times. Opinions have been staked out, nobody's mind has been changed.

That guy - 2013-04-03

I don't know much about the 2nd amendment but I think what you have there is a perfectly viable fetus that will end in miscarriage.

FABIO - 2013-04-03

It's true. This man has no dick.

Change - 2013-04-03

lol penis fixations

Gmork - 2013-04-03

a recurring theme in those who want to disarm others

Cena_mark - 2013-04-03

D.C. and Chicago are poor examples of true gun control. When there's no customs to get in those cities and guns are easily smuggled from the southern states.

Oscar Wildcat - 2013-04-03

My own experience speaks to this issue. I lived in NYC for about 15 years, and even having a branch office of the latin kings down the block from me, and my stoop once being used as a dead nigger storage area ( despite signage to the contrary ) I never had a gun pointed at me until I moved to a rural area. The strict gun control laws didn't prevent people from having guns, but it made it very difficult to pull one out without a raft of shit following. Not so here.

I gave my brother my guns when I moved, didn't think I needed them in NYC and I didn't. Now I have them back. Sorry, but white rednecks with guns are far more dangerous. People get shot here on line to buy groceries. Not store robberies, just other customers taking offence. For real. Anyone who claims widespread gun ownership creates a polite society should try living in rural america and see how that pans out in practice.

Gmork - 2013-04-03

I call bullshit. You're saying it's more likely to get shot in a rural grocery store than on the streets of NYC. Uh-huh.

PegLegPete - 2013-04-03

Not very compelling really. Societal decay: he cites nothing. We don't have slavery anymore and we had the civil right movement just to name a couple, both of which kind of defeat his point about our gun-laden history too - my point being we can change on seemingly ingrained behavior/policy. Now our social safety nets? Yeah, they're disappearing. Cena mentioned the D.C. problem, which reminds me of Mexico and the United States; it's easy to get guns when you know your neighbor has them. He might have a point about the LA riots, but I don't know enough about them. The point about Tiananmen square is laughable - they would have been shot and killed by the military probably, and perhaps less would have been achieved, if anything had at all, because they'd be dead and unable to continue being pro-democracy.

US vs Miller is on wiki and the decision of the supreme court justices is there. Read their decision and make up your own mind really, because there's still debate on whether or not is supports or detracts people owning guns. Look at what Bort wrote too.

The quote he ends with doesn't really bear sound reasoning. The people in Germany supported their reich and if they had guns the atrocities may have been worse via vigilantes. The surrounding nations did have guns, and armies, no one saw it coming and that was what happened. It was called "Blitzkrieg" for a reason. But of course, sometimes the vaguest of pronunciations that tacitly support an ideological position are best - for there is so much to deny and so little to defend, if anything at all.

Gmork - 2013-04-03

Oh god, you believed what you just said didn't you?

chumbucket - 2013-04-03

Not much new here.

Crackersmack - 2013-04-03

All the gun control talk since Newtown has basically proven to me that people that care a lot about gun control (whether for or against it) are absolute fucking morons for the most part.

zerdzer - 2013-04-03

why is that?

Crackersmack - 2013-04-03

I honestly have yet to see a well-reasoned, informed, rational argument from either side.

The whole discourse is just gross and dysfunctional and I really want to stop participating in it. However I'm as guilty as anybody else for engaging on this when I know better.

Gmork - 2013-04-03

That's funny, I've heard impassioned rants about subjects far more asinine out of you.

Crackersmack - 2013-04-04

I'm actually pro 2nd amendment, but it's not something I worry about since there is zero chance of new gun control legislation becoming law. But if it did I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. The Nugents and the LaPierres of the world are repulsive enough that I'd rather not be associated with them if I can help it.

memedumpster - 2013-04-03

Sorry, too busy today to troll this video. Just pretend I said something offensive. Dead kids, blah blah blah, rage on.

Bort - 2013-04-04

indignant condemnation
