Old_Zircon - 2013-02-05 I had a Gateway 2000 Xeon 450mHz (I'd gotten into college and was studying sound design, so I actually needed something like that), and it stayed useful fr the better part of a decade, amazingly.

I had the precursor: a Celeron 266 clocked at 400MHz. One of the first games I played on it was the EverQuest beta.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2014-11-15 overclocking is allowing your cpu to run faster than the default factory settings. This would be really beneficial if you're poor as its totally free to implement and gives you the performance of a more expensive more powerful chip for less money.

Crab Mentality - 2014-11-15 Although you run the risk of cooking your CPU if you ask too much of it. Hence all the cooling that people put on their machines.
