I don't hate this song at all, really. I know its condescending and sort of stupid, but at least its not Paul McCartney's "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time"... unquestionably the worst Christmas song of all time.
There are too many awful Christmas songs for anything to be unquestionably the worst.

I always thought they were referring to the peaks of Kilimanjaro. Otherwise, that lyric is just ....stupid.
Of course, this is from a time when Kilimanjaro actually had ice and glaciers, something predicted to be completely gone by 2020.

Dude tried to do some good, I can't hate him for that. The unfortunate side effect of this was that charity efforts became a trend, and trends get played out.
This, more than anything, contributed to my generation's cynicism and utter indifference to social causes.
