Nobody actually has statistics on how good AA is, because they don't collect them. Anybody who tells you they have those statistics is bullshitting on one side or the other.

We also don't have salvation statistics for the rest of Christianity, because the dead always hang up on pollsters.

The few and limited studies conducted have shown that the recovery rate between AA and other.programs is.roughly thesame.

They don't do customized prayers at the meetings, you do those in your own spare time. A guy had Mickey Mouse as his higher power and it can even be an ideal or a concept rather than a being. This is what they use as evidence of "see, it's really not a religion". However, yes, it is a religion.

AA sucks but "Why can't alcoholics just stop drinking so much???!!" is a really shitty attitude to have. Just because you were able to reign in your own drinking doesn't mean that works for everyone.
