I did a little digging. You can see him get taken down here for running from the police. Guess he had a trespass warrant for bugging highschoolers by handing out pamplets on schools.

Police are trained not to show weakness in any sort of power game (for lack of a better word) just as they are trained to abide by every law that applies to them. Unfortunately, they're human, so while they don't understand or forget that they can't just open a civilian's car door, they also can make decisions that letting a situation escalate with people that are doing everything they can to escalate a situation over a ticket is stupid and let it pass.

It's been my experience that the police, whose job it is to arrest people, are happy to oblige you if you act like a dick. Often even if you are polite, the truth be told. And I'm sorry to report, America, that you no longer have any legal recourse in the matter. So forgive my skepticism when I see a clip of a bunch of kids acting like steaming douchenozzles and the cop just sez "Have a nice day, citizens".

You can tell this isn't faked because these guys don't know anyone without a goatee.

It's been my experience that police are nice people that hate bugging people they can tell are innocent. I guess we cancel each other out.

There's bad cops, plenty of them, but these kids really need to have their upper middle class white privilege beaten out of them. They embarrassed themselves.

It pisses me off because this is not a situation that warrants upping the ante and pissing off a cop simply because he is one. Just for the sake of doing so. There are people being marginalized and attacked by cops for trying to protest that do not deserve the negative attention or physical brutality that they have received and acting like this over a non confrontational situation insults those who have something to actually complain about.

I've had a couple run-ins with obnoxious cops, but most of my interactions have been pleasant enough. But one in particular stands out, as an old band of mine was on tour and we were pulled over for reckless driving in Chicago (we kind of deserved it as we were hauling a trailer). Anyway, the cop finds out we're in a touring band and asks one guy to exit the vehicle and follow him back to his squad car. Obviously, we can't figure out what the fuck is going on. But the cop then introduces him via the PA system and has him sing a line from one of our songs. Then he tells us to be safe and sends us on our way without a ticket.
