I take breaks from Dark Souls to watch this. It's like taking a break from being tortured to watch torture.

TimidAres - 2012-08-26

Yep.
Every copy of Dark Souls should come with a safety word.

Riskbreaker - 2012-08-26

Don't remind me, i'm still stuck with the two bosses in Anor Londo.

lordyam - 2012-08-26

i refuse to buy that game, but i have a friend who lets me play it at his apartment simply cause he enjoys watching my rage quit. err i dont know why i love playing that game now or this game when i was little.

Riskbreaker - 2012-08-27

Dark Souls is not that hard, just like Demon's Souls. The difficulty curve is mostly at the beginning.

Aelric - 2012-08-27

Yeah, I think the real tutorial was blight town. Can move two inches without being paranoid of everything. After that, I got a groove on.

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-08-26

I feel so bad for him throughout this whole thing. So many pizza parties reduced to anger and hatred by this cursed game.

Kabbage - 2012-08-26

It was the Mario Party of the late 80's.

TimidAres - 2012-08-26

Now everything sucks.
Thanks to call of duty and its ilk, everyone can hate everyone else!

lordyam - 2012-08-26

the irony being that you needed 2 players to win, but it was all over once you realized that you could hurt each other

theSnake - 2012-08-26

He should have had to do it 2 player

Sanest Man Alive - 2012-08-26

I'm immensely jealous that the Japanese version actually looks playable. Battletoads looks like it could've been just a really kickass, hard-but-fair game, if it had actually had more player testing, or something else to let the developers know when they were stacking the difficulty to insane levels.

Sanest Man Alive - 2012-08-26

Incidentally, I love that 14-year-old Arino looks exactly like his adult self.

FABIO - 2012-08-26

Unlimited continues and not sending you back when you died.

That's all they had to do.

(or just ditch most of the gimmick levels and make it a straight up brawler. Everyone liked the first level the best)

Riskbreaker - 2012-08-26

It might be a more accesible version, but seeing Arino conquering this game was highly enjoyable. I have catharsis now, i can go with my life.

Riskbreaker - 2012-08-26

Heck, this is now one of my favorites episodes, not just because it was Battletoads, seeing Arino so much into the game was what made it for me. Also, every time he was jumping spikes in the serpent levels the entire staff would scream in panic. Arino truly puts his skills to the limit with more difficult games.

Louis Armstrong - 2012-08-26

Thats one small step for Arino, one giant leap for gaming kind.

Xenocide - 2012-08-26

With Arino's triumph, thousands of frustrated early 90's preteens breathe a sigh of spiritual relief. They are finally avenged.

Now they can die.

Jeriko-1 - 2012-08-26

Not really. It kicked his ass!
I wanna see his second attempt if they can convince him to ever pick the evil thing up again.

Riskbreaker - 2012-08-26

He enjoyed the game a lot, unlike Ghosts and Goblins, this didn't scar him for life. I'm sure he wouldn't mind playing it again.

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2012-08-27

Unless he's given the original.

Hm, that could make for a good live challenge.

FABIO - 2012-08-27

Just now watched the whole thing instead of bits.

The AD gets him back to the level every time he runs out of continues? Booooo. If you don't go through the soul crushing of having to start over every time, you're not getting the authentic Battletoads experience.

Good lordy this is so much easier than the American version. Only dying four times before beating the clipper winger stage? There is no way a human could pull that with the original game.

FABIO - 2012-08-27

and the Game Over screen sounds/music STILL makes me reflexively want to throw something at a wall.
