candyheadrobot - 2012-08-06

Yes Joseph, the tiger is still coming over to talk to you!

Oscar Wildcat - 2012-08-06

And he's smiling!

The Townleybomb - 2012-08-06

Oh, dear god no!

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-08-06

This is why the zoo is the best place to take kids, life lessons made easy.

STABFACE - 2012-08-06

One of my fondest memories from the zoo was seeing an elephant casually reach into another elephants ass, pull out a trunkfull of dookie, and just pop it into his mouth like that is a thing you do. All to the screams of a group of little kids on a field trip.

Oktay - 2012-08-06

For them, it is a thing they have to do -- from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coprophagia:

"Young elephants, pandas, koalas, and hippos eat the feces of their mothers or other animals in the herd to obtain the bacteria required to properly digest vegetation found on the savanna and in the jungle. When they are born, their intestines do not contain these bacteria (they are completely sterile). Without them, they would be unable to obtain any nutritional value from plants."

Dad seem traumatized, but Joseph looks quite pleased.

TeenerTot - 2012-08-06

That made me really happy, that the kid took it okay. I wish the dad had been less fear-modeling.

mouser - 2012-08-06

^ this.

Dad was probably raised by an over-protecting pancake batter mixer.

dr_rock - 2012-08-06

That dad is a whiny baby. Newsflash: this happens a million times every day in nature.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-08-06

He was clearly trying his best not to laugh at his own dismay.

That guy - 2012-08-10

Not that clearly. It sounds like he's trying to teach his son that everything's either a fucking cartoon or a fucking tragedy.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2012-08-06

Do American squirrels not have any innate fear of tiger like animals?? (like cougar) Or is a snow leopard sufficiently different from its ancestral predators that it doesnt register?
This whole area is pretty interesting..

dr_rock - 2012-08-06

The east coast is lousy with eastern gray squirrels, and they stay the hell away from everything (except for those in parks where idiots feed them all the time). They would never have let that happen. Maybe it's because the squirrel is from Cali, so it's, like, chill, man.

duck&cover - 2012-08-06

Maybe it has the "cats are our friends" brain parasite.

American Standard - 2012-08-06

If I had seen this as a child, I would have probably squealed with delight and spent the whole car ride home recounting it fifteen different ways. With sound effects.

RAWRRR

CHOMP

NOM NOM NOM

Syd Midnight - 2012-08-10

He is young enough to instinctively understand such a primal incident. It was the "Look a tiger is coming to say hello to you" thing that had him confused.

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-08-06

I love the way that leopards face lights up when it realizes it found something to kill.

Fur is Murder - 2012-08-06

'Call me a tiger again, primate, and your kid will be next.'

Oktay - 2012-08-06

Calm down, dad!

Adham Nu'man - 2012-08-06

Like picking fruit off a tree.

kingofthenothing - 2012-08-07

I like how around 30 seconds the leopard's like "What? I'm having a snack."

That guy - 2012-08-10

That squirrel needed eating. I know what I just saw.

TheOtherCapnS - 2014-08-06

This is the greatest. His dad is Big Gay Al.
